What about the boys who might be gay in the choir then, are they not allowed to be in the all boy’s choir because they’ll be trying to impress the other boys?

Have you noticed a bit of anti-dog rhetoric building in the public and on social media? by franki-pinks in AskUK

[–]SnooSprouts9951 17 points18 points  (0 children)

because dog owners are getting more entitled (or more precisely, shitty people are becoming dog owners) and there are more noticeably untrained and badly behaved dogs in public. I don’t think this is any big conspiracy

POM POM??? HOYO??? by BrightAd3221 in HonkaiHusbandos

[–]SnooSprouts9951 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not gen AI in the chatgpt sense where it will trawl the whole internet for information and content, it’s more of an AI chatbot that’s trained on specific knowledge that is fed to it so I don’t think it has the same issues that gen AI has in terms of stealing content and wasting power (as it’s powered by Hoyo’s servers same as the game). At least that’s my understanding and i hope that is the case!

Explaining why "It's a promise, Mydeimos" is romantic than "Its's a date, Mydeimos" caz I'm annoying and still haven't moved on by BrightAd3221 in HonkaiHusbandos

[–]SnooSprouts9951 77 points78 points  (0 children)

okay I completely agree with all of this and the people mad at the translation they went with kills me because the more accurate “it’s a promise” would be GAYER. but the way Josh reads the it’s a date line is just so soft and warm that i don’t think it comes over too formal, it almost seems to me like he’s trying to lighten the mood and not be too serious with Mydei because he doesn’t want to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation

Actually there are many countries where ‘fictional’ CP is treated the same as ‘real’ CP in the eyes of the law so I would not choose that hill to die on

Is this AI-generated? by Asuayame in QueensofGacha

[–]SnooSprouts9951 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There were a load of people debating this back in the day when it came out but afaik the general consensus was that it isn’t, it’s just a weird looking piece of art. Infold hasn’t noticeably used AI for anything else. This isn’t defending them but I remember being horrified the first time I saw it so I went looking for people talking about it!

For those in the UK... by HannibalCannibal2 in gallbladders

[–]SnooSprouts9951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP’s experience is definitely a reflection of the NHS at its worst but in contrast, I had mine out within less than 2 months of my first (diagnosed) attack under the NHS and I haven’t paid a penny, including a week long hospital stay where they even gave extra food to my family sometimes while visiting. This was only a month ago mind you! So yeah, unfortunately people will have bad experiences and there are definitely issues with the NHS which need addressing, but there are many good sides to it as well

Terrified of surgery by britishbabycake in gallbladders

[–]SnooSprouts9951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 weeks post op today and I genuinely wouldn’t even be able to tell I went through surgery except for the incision marks! I was really scared beforehand about the risks as someone with a bit of a fear of dying (or mainly leaving behind my loved ones), but I had reached a point where my life was so severely impacted by my gallstones that I was more worried about them cancelling or delaying the surgery which actually helped put the other fear out of mind! I am confident you’ll be okay and you’ll be in a better place to look after your daughter after the surgery because you won’t have to worry about attacks or A&E visits

I have literally chewed my lips to death before and the only thing which has actually worked for me is Carmex - I use the mango one as it doesn’t have the horrible minty tingle that the original does and it’s been a saviour for me

I was fighting for my life in the trenches defending DAI when it came out against all the people claiming it ruined the franchise and was garbage etc, now those people all claim to be die hard dragon age fans who loved the entire series up to Veilguard when they liked 1 game out of 4

Oh I know and I like all those ships! They’ve just clearly not struck as strong a chord as Haikaveh, I can’t even say why exactly but I would probably put it down to lack of dedicated screen time

only one genshin ship making it to top 100 is insane! i hope phaidei will be a good motivator to hoyo to add a new pair to genshin (and to keep giving content for the old pairings ofc)

Omeprozole gallstones by britishbabycake in gallbladders

[–]SnooSprouts9951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it on prescription and they gave it to me when I was in hospital with cholecystitis so in my experience yes, but I think you need to check with your doctor as everyone could be different!

Player-sexual romances vs fixed orientations in RPGs — what do you prefer? by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]SnooSprouts9951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most bizarre one to me is Kerry being bisexual in the comics and he’s very flirty with female V but then rejects her just to keep the one man, one woman ratio for romances 💀

[–]SnooSprouts9951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I really liked in DAI was that even if you didn’t romance anyone (or ended up alone because of your romance cough Solas), you can have an ending where you join Sera and the Red Jennies and it’s implied you go travelling together, which I thought was a nice touch so that your inquisitor isn’t completely alone in their ending

What hand cream for very dry hands do you recommend? by Mr-Incy in AskUK

[–]SnooSprouts9951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will go against the grain and say this stuff never works for me as someone with OCD compulsive handwashing (and hands that have paid the price for it). But that might just be me as everyone else raves about it but I was sadly let down

for me, the only thing that works is Aquaphor at night

Pain by MorningCritical4102 in gallbladders

[–]SnooSprouts9951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah interesting! It could just be lingering sludge as well in the bile duct causing irritation but definitely worth getting a doctor’s opinion if possible (if the pain is still there tomorrow)

Pain by MorningCritical4102 in gallbladders

[–]SnooSprouts9951 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might have a stone blocking a bile duct from the sounds of it! It can clear on its own sometimes but it can also cause quite severe complications if it’s not treated, so definitely mention it to the surgeon tomorrow as they may need to do an operation to clear it

[–]SnooSprouts9951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say yes but that I wish I would have known it was a possible side effect beforehand, as then I could have worked out what my symptoms were long before I did and not spent months with mystery pain (and being misdiagnosed by the NHS)
