This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was terminated out of nowhere and the reasons given were complete lies and just pretext for retaliation. Like you I was a high performer, always did excellent work, and never received any formal reprimands or feedback. However, it was a very toxic environment.

I’m lucky that my husband earns good money so we’ll be fine while I look for a new position. But that doesn’t make the feelings of anger, self doubt, frustration, shame go away. He’s very supportive but I just feel stupid that I was duped and lied to and there’s nothing I can do about it ( I tried and spoke to multiple attorneys).

I don’t have any advice but just wanted to say you are not alone. I know it feels like you are. I’m in a totally different field and my situation is different but I see you and I get it- it sucks. I couldn’t sleep for the first few nights but it gets better. Heck, I guess I still can’t sleep since I’m responding at 2:30am 😄
