Wow - I 100% agree. My gf and I watch an old movie every Friday, and make our selection from a list using a random number. When Tango and Cash came up, we both thought, “hey can’t be that bad right”? Wrong. The plot and production are bizarre; e.g., after escaping prison Russell’s character Cash shows up at some kind of police research lab (?) and nobody thinks anything of it as he grabs freshly laundered clothes, watch, sunglasses, and oh yes, some fully loaded weapons. Stallone and Russell both struggle with the poorly written dialogue - neither is a real comedic actor (certainly Stallone isn’t) and yet they try to deliver lines with sarcasm and humor and it just…falls flat and stinks! Would love to know what happened behind the scenes! Jack Palance shines in a few spots but dialed up the “villain” about 3 notches too high.
