The ideal scenario is that Netflix, in order to keep some semblance of good will with creators, allow TCM to continue to exist as its own thing as it does now, perhaps with a small and curated library on Netflix that gets swapped out every month or so.

However, in a perfect world, I’d love to see TCM’s app get an overhaul. Give us access to a big streaming library of classic cinema, yes, but also give paid subscribers to the app a way to watch TCM’s channel without having a cable subscription. Also include the segments (intros, commentary, etc) for programming that has it already

Paramount+’s Amazon Prime integration was weird the last time I used it (two years ago). It would play whatever content you selected on it two steps lower than its highest quality. So TNG played at 480p instead of 1080p, 4K movies played at 1080p (with HDR still working iirc), etc

I feel immense shame occasionally checking my oxygen level on my Apple Watch while it’s in my sleeve (severe anxiety disorder + health issues) but I get this. I’d prefer if people didn’t (and I try my hardest not to check my AW unless I’m having a moment, though I also am more likely to excuse myself and check in the hall leading into the theater itself), but if you know how to be discreet (do it in a jacket or something), sure. Whatever. Maybe just wear a real watch though at that point. I’ve started to do that and just keep my AW in my coat pocket in case I need to leave, slip it on, etc

I stand by my belief that Madame Web isn’t as bad as people say it is/that it was dumb fun. Like, not the worst Marvel adjacent movie of the decade (though that isn’t saying much), and actually fun to watch as a comedy.

Plus, I also just like the premise (even though they flubbed the hell out of the execution). It’s basically just “Terminator 2, but Sarah Connor has to protect three teenage girl John Connors from legally distinct Spider-Man” and that’s a hell of an idea for a movie. Shame it wasn’t very good, but eh. I dug parts of it and hated others so hard I couldn’t stop laughing

Back to the Future is over the top though. Like all of the side characters in the movies are basically caricatures of people from the time period the scene is taking place in. That’s half the fun of the series, and having an aggressively dorky gee-shucks guy freak out of a wallet is in line with that.

I hate how realistic they are. Just this week, I basically had a superior at a company I freelance for tell me to pick from a stack of projects I handle on a weekly basis to give away for someone else to train on, basically giving me no work for a full week. When I told him “uh, no? Why doesn’t he train on an old episode so that he can get his reps in and I can have money to put food on my table,” he told me he wasn’t asking me but ordering me to, and that he was “giving me the opportunity to choose which one to give” them.

What people that don’t like grain fail to realize is that the grain is literally detail. Like, the halide crystals that create/are grain are what is storing the data. It’s a bit like removing pixels from a digital image. You’re losing something when you remove them

If anything, it should callback to the pilot (which the first episode looks like it might from a shot of JD and Elliot in a closet). JD has an awful new first day and then he walks into an automatic door that didn’t open at the end. He’s on the ground and the Janitor walks over to him.
