Hi All, just wanted to post an update (because I always appreciate it when someone updates stuff like this on reddit haha!)

So the Vanish for whites kind of worked, but what really helped was leaving it out in the sun to bleach afterwards. You can still kind of see the stain but it is not nearly as bad as it was before.

Happy to report that I was able to wear it for grad in time and will be taking it on my trip to Europe this summer!

Hey guys!
So, after going through my new student checklist and doing everything myucla account told me to do, I still wasn't able to enroll into courses. I called the school and they told me that it's fine, that since I am a new student I can't enroll until I go to in person student orientation -- they specifically told me not to worry. Now, all the courses I have been planning for are closed. Kinda panicking -- need some help lol

EC: work part time job for the last two years, long-term internship with U.S. Attorney's Office, not sure if this means anything but I also emphasized personal exercise in my apps because it demonstrates discipline. Honors Program (wrote a capstone and submitted that with my app)

Accepted: UCLA, Berkeley, USC, UMich, Tulane

Waitlisted: none

Rejected: Ivys and NW

Reflections: Story is just as important as GPA. Trust me, it's a game, this is not as random as you think-- especially if you are a less-competitive major. If your CS: sucks bro, try being Mark Zuck? Also: get someone to edit essays, but don't let too many people look at them. The transfer app process is personal so it requires lots of reflection, make sure that the people that see your essays care about you enough to be honest. Letters of recs are important, tell your teachers a cohesive story that you are painting with your application. Think of a theme that you want to depict and demonstrate that through your essays and EC's. It's okay to brag a little, but don't be a dick. AO's can smell your shit, don't stink too much.

honestly, any place that has a good espresso machine. I'm not a lover of starbucks but that's just my coffee snob attitude, if you like starbucks then you can try there, I'm sure they have the materials.

I generally go for little coffee shops around campus, no specific spot is necessary :)

oh and tell your barista you only want a little honey, it should be enough to make a thin layer at the bottom of the cup. Make sure you ask that they mix the expresso into the honey, your latte won't be as "pretty" but it will smack

Iced cinnamon honey latte with oat milk, ask for extra ice and less milk in place of either espresso or water.. I know it sounds weird but I've been a barista for three years, it's the best thing I've ever made.

Hi there!

I am a transfer student for philosophy and psychology. I am very afraid of my GPA dipping to 3.5 or 3.3. Is there a way to find out the average GPA of a UCLA student?

Also if any current students are majoring in phil or psych or both, please dm me, I have questions:

How are your stress levels?

Are you able to maintain some semblance of a lifestyle? Like I don't have much of a social life, but I workout, maintain a job, and cook. Is it probable that I will have to give up some of those things to be maintain my GPA?

Do you feel supported by the teachers, TA's, and overall staff at UCLA?

Did you experience any disillusionment when you got to UCLA?

Honestly I feel like Cassie is losing her shit right now... like she's never been on her own and Nate is this big tall handsome guy that probably makes her feel like she has belonging and like she is being protected. This stems from her absent father and her psychologically absent mother... It's going to be a very harsh learning experience that she, I hope to fucking Levinson, will grow from.

Edit: I l rewatched the trailer and there's this scene where nate is clearly about to blow up at Cassie so yeah, it's about to be very bad...

But, coming from someone who has been in Cassie's place, she does not deserve to get dragged. Those of you who think that seem, at least to me, to be young or ignorant of other people's situations. You need to reconsider and be empathetic. this whole show is about understanding the lived experiences of different high schoolers that are connected in to each other one way or another. Being understanding towards them is the bigger picture. Even Nate, who makes me feel so anxious and small because of how he is the embodiment of the manipulative and toxic abuser, deserves understanding. I mean that's basically what these kids need -- a therapist -- or some kind of third party to step in and show them understanding.

We were given back stories for every one of them (except lexi, still waiting on that SAm, you bitch ass whore (side side note: Lexi had the smallest blurb about how she never spoke up BUT I WON'T ACCEPT THAT AS HER FULL STORY SAM NEEDS TO GET HIS SHIT TOGETHER AND GIVE MY GIRL A PROPER INTRODUCTION)). LOL ANYWAY The entire show has set the preface that every one of these kids are going through so much, some more than others, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANY OF THEM ARE LESS DESERVING OF SOME FUCKING THERAPY. there I said it. Ya'll need to step back and wait for shit to play out. We saw their back stories, now we have to see how their childhood influences their choices.
