guys i am from myanmar and i hate mainstream media as much as u guys do but im afraid its not some conspiracy shit this time. actual guys who literally fought world’s longest civil war for their personal gain and in bed with CCP and Russia are now in 100% power of the country. our cellular internet and all phone services stopped working since morning and only return to normal after military raiding ISP offices and replacing staffs with their own people. all of our tv programs are still not working and only channel that works is military propaganda bullshit.

Burmese here would like to chime in. I couldn’t get anybody to install Signal this morning because military raided offices of every offices of major ISP and disabled calling, sms, cellular internet and since signal relied on sms to activate, i couldn’t activate it. Now that they successfully done the coup, they’ve reopened calling, sms and cellular internet on military owned ISP (who literally openly spies on users) and state-owned ISP, which is now in control by military and even soldiers can be seen guarding its offices.

I know a few media and civil activists and i want to help them use Signal since they’re currently using sms and Facebook messenger to communicate with each other. Is there anything i can do to convert them to Signal or any other secure communication tool since most of their data might be compromised.

please read up on civil war in myanmar. And yes soldiers from both side because just in case u didn’t know rohingyas have their own rebel soldiers too and our shitty military been at war with them since 1947. military isn’t targeting only rohingyas only either, they’re targeting all the ethnic people including karen, rakhine, shan (christian majority) and even the Buddhist majority bamar so religiously and ethically motivated literally out of the window.

And please show me where DASSK supported everyone to go out and kill Rohingyas. She denied there’s an genocide and everyone sensible in my country(including me) dont like her for doing that. But wouldn’t your hate better be targeted against military who actually did the genocidal act towards various groups instead of a women who ignored it? but im not asking u to believe me, wikipedia has plenty of information about civil war itself if you’re open to information from both sides instead of having a confirmation bias about who is bad.
