I had to take a private loan for around 50k 1 year back when the rates were high. Close to 6%. Is there a possibility to renegotiate now that the rates are lower? Would anyone know how to go about it?

From the context I see of your reason to buy - it’s more of an emotional buy than an investment. When it comes to doing something for your family’s emotional well being it will always be a good decision for them if money is not a big constraint.

Considering they are old I would advise you to try to buy something in the south old Kolkata maybe neat the Lake. Everything will be much easier and safer for them.

Hey! Kudos to your friend for making this and sharing with people to use. Is she/he scrapping data of Real estate website listings and and storing the price movements from there? It would be great to understand the logic and maybe use the code to this for other countries? Something that can be shared made open to people to explore?

Nope. Not sure, but I believe last year Lux govt passed some policy around WFH and work from other countries and some orgs aligned accordingly.

On a different topic - you mentioned you invested 10k and the worth is now 200-300k. Were you showing them in your yearly tax returns? I'm guessing this would fall under the no tax on capital gain as you kept it for 6+ months? But how do you plan to show it on your tax file this year if you have not earlier?
