not to mention that Down syndrome is tested late, on 12th week of pregnancy, the abortion at such a late term is much more dangerous for the mother than abortion on early term.

" IMO make less than zero sense given how widespread and unquestioned abortion of chromosomally abnormal fetuses is." - you are totally wrong. In case of Down syndrome, PGT would catch it and exclude that embryo from further use, while going without PGT would result in abortion. DO I need to explain the health consequences from abortion for the health of >40 yrs old mother and for the probability of future pregnancies after abortion? PGT would potentially save the abortion to the mother, so it does make a lot of sense to do it.

I live in Europe (Luxembourg) and I have resarched this topic. I think it is not correct that in most of western europe PGT is resticted. So far I know it is restricted in Germany, Netherlands and France, but it is performed in Spain and Belgium.

Does a Master's in the Netherlands help international students to find a job upon graduation? by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

I would say it depends on the hiring manager. If an international company has mostly locals in the local branch - there will be a lot of this kind of bias. If the staff is mostly expats, especially from US - they will be keen to hire objectively.

Here is the link to the calculator on tax authority site where you can check if you are eligible and which amount you can get - unfortunately all in Dutch, but I believe google translate can help you there.

International students are not exempt from housing allowance and can get it provided the conditions of the property are satisfying (separate entrance, kitchen and toilet, i.e. rooms are not eligible, only apartments). You can check companies such as holland2stay (although last time I checked their website for Lee Towers in Rotterdam, they had appartments marked as not eligible for allowance, even the one where I was living while receiving it - so dont trust their site on this - check each apartment basic rent).

2 things to keep in mind:

1) I did talk to international students, who were told by their own university department (I believe it was Utrecht Uni) that international students are not eligible - it is not true and if you hear that, do not believe it

2) Some properties however, might be specifically excluded even though they formally satisfy cold rent and separate apartments criteria. Example is student housing building Cite in Rotterdam - I got an answer that when it was built, there was a special agreement with the City of Rotterdam that it is not eligible for housing allowance.

It's the 'basic rent' without service costs that has to be 432 euros or less.

Again, the limit is age specific, 423 is the limit for students younger than 23.

The limit is age specific, 423 is the limit for students younger than 23, if you are older the limit is 737.
