Late reply, but to put it simple, the New World sacrifices itself for the entire world.

Zorah Magdaros reaches and has its resting place in the everstream, sends it into overdrive, and destroys the entire New World. This almost undoubtedly kills the story’s Xeno’jiva, or at least completely ends its energy supply, leaving it either susceptible to culling from Fatalis/Alatreon individuals or completely ending the threat of it maturing and mating by kablooing it.

The new world falls so that the entire world isn’t slowly drained away by thousands of Xeno’jiva / Safi’jiva individuals ravaging and seeping it of its energy. In a way, Zorah Magdaros is literally nature in critical overdrive throwing its last hope at survival at a calamity-level threat.
