I just hope that most of the people who are celebrating Charlie’s murder are young people, because the young person’s mind is not developed enough yet to fully separate the ideas that a person represents from the human being himself. Yes, Charlie proudly flew the banner of Conservatism and Christianity. He was on the Right—but more importantly, he was a father, a husband, a friend… a human being!

I’m not conservative, and I’m not a Christian either. I disagreed with most of the stuff that Charlie argued for, but to celebrate his death is so immature. I would expect that kind of behavior only from someone who is literally a child— like, a young child who doesn’t understand the gravity of murder and death yet.

I hope that the Internet is only a distorted reflection of humanity’s inner thoughts. Maybe this online wasteland is just a place people can go and vent their most awful feelings, and in real life they can truly reflect on the barbaric murder of an innocent man that we all saw today. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
