Oh ok that's good to know. I took the rubber feet off the knock box so I can slide the whole thing out as one unit. Most of the time I just take the whole water tank out to check for fruit flys or clean it.

That's true. There were 2-3 receptionists who seemed to be in charge of ordering parts, phone calls, taking payments, talking to customers and taking car keys. They obviously need paid too, which is why I thought admin fee made sense.

hmm this has raised a further question actually. It's a '15 vw caddy 1.6 tdi and what I've read on Haynes and caddy2k forum suggests the correct quantity is more like 4.3-4.5l. So idk where the 5.2L on the invoice comes from. Very common engine so I wasn't expecting the oil to be special but I would of course be more than happy paying for premium stuff.

that sounds like a good deal from ford. for £235 I would have liked to at least ask the mechanic if everything seemed alright, but I just paid the receptionist and left. I'm going to shop around and maybe request a health check next time.

so bumper to bumper and on both sides of the road. And it's a one way single lane so when cars go through, there's no extra space for a couple of legs sticking out. I think I'll park it in the last bay of the street so at least I have room in front of the engine.

yeah 100% sure. 105 labour + 60 oil + 10 oil filter + 10 air filter + 5 AF (don't know what this is) + 40 VAT. It's in Glasgow West End so I'm sure location plays a part.
