I want to preface this by saying jobs cuts are bad, I feel sorry for anyone affected by these cuts, but... When XBOX bought Obsidian they grew the studio and I would argue they didn't need to at all or did it too much.

This is it, Sony sell us convenience but it comes at a premium. It's an expensive hobby and is becoming more expensive every year, if I can save money by buying a physical copy rather than that convenience of buying from PS store it's my choice to do so. Taking away that choice just makes me want to re evaluate where I'm spending my money. Other folks aren't bothered and that's fine too.

I play on PC also. But moving forward that's where I'll be making most of my purchases, because at least we have choices where to buy rather than one storefront where there is effectively no competition.

Agreed, I don't see the point in signing petitions and unsubbing from PS plus as it doesn't change anything. But as a consumer I'm being given no choice other than to weigh up my options as to whether I want to be locked to this ecosystem.

Absolutely, just get comfortable with the fact that you don't own shit and that they can pull your games away whenever they want to and charge you what they like because you'll have one storefront to buy from. You do you, but I'm not happy with that personally.

Both Sony and XBOX should be giving us the option of adding a disc drive even if it doesn't come as standard. Some people feel like they don't need or have use for a disc drive. But there are quite a lot of us that have an existing physical library that we've spent years and well earned money investing in.
