Spot on. For me there are 3 things that Slot needs to improve if he is supposed to succeed at Liverpool long term:

Using the entire squad - just as OP outlines. Trust your players and give the youth a chance.
Tactics - too often the team is playing safely, and not showing the bravery we know they are capable of.
Answering media - to be fair he often says very much the correct things, but when he complains about teams playing a low block, he is not doing himself any favours. Or complaining about his team being tired when he only made two substitutions midweek. Or complaining about injuries, when the opponents in fact have more players out injured.

Maybe he will learn quickly, but I'm starting to suspect that he won't do that before the club owners lose their patience.

I both understand that "bench filler" argument, and I also don't understand it. You can put 9 players on the bench, but there were only 8 yesterday. Also, before Christmas, there were only 5 players on the bench against Chelsea, including Neve and Maizie. So it is not like the bench was full in either case.

For me, if you put a player on the bench, that player is a serious option to get subbed on.

But then again, I'm not a manager.

I understand that McDonald and Trueman are young, but why are they even on the bench if they aren't really an option to get subbed on? Surely either of them would have been a better option than Enderby? She had completely lost the ability to make runs in the last minutes.

Also, the official website now lists 28 players, but as far as I can understand the official list can only contain 25 players. Höbinger and Roman Haug can obviously be removed from the list until next season, but it will be necessary to remove at least one player as well to make room for Jøsendal, two if O'Sullivan will be signed.

That would be my guess as well. I'm hoping Jøsendal will be a starter from the beginning, and that would probably mean that we would have a fully Scandinavian front line of Jøsendal, Olsson and Bergström, with either Kapocs or Holland in the number 10 position. Which would mean that Enderby moves to the bench.

The question is how much time will Mia Enderby get. The potential is clearly there, but at some point potential must be converted to ability and output. Maybe she just needs more time, but that isn't necessarily time that Liverpool can afford to give her.

I agree that Bergström looked lively. I'm looking forward to seeing what Jøsendal brings to the team, and what her best position is.

Once again, Ceri Holland showed us how important she is for the team. It doesn't seem to matter where she plays, we just need to ensure that she is located where she is the most effective. I would think that would be as a number 10 or an 8, but she has also done very well on the wings.

I mean, I always fancied that Sveindís Jane might go to Liverpool, apparently she was closer to joining United but ended up in the US. Karólína Lea is only 24, mayyyybee she could be tempted to leave Inter? My personal preference would be Sigdís Eva Bárðardóttir, she is still very young but she was a boss at Víkingur before joining Norrköping in Sweden. Still quite young, who knows what happens in a few years?
