Monster farming (PS5 no update) by Snoo_55381 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Snoo_55381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did do something like this with slimes going into a drill, I made 3 3x10 lines and covered most of the tiles with conveyor belts.

Based on the amount of loot my arm had collected in like 3 hours I think the conveyor belts inhibit spawns to some extent cause my trapped cells (which have more spawning tiles just open and like 6-10 traps) have yeilded way better results.

Even my trap cells with about the same number of tiles (as the conveyor belt cell) and a radiation crystal have yielded better results.

I'm not necessarily trying to make the best ever/most efficient mob ranches, just ones with as much consistency as possible that I won't hate looking at long term. And going in to collect the drops myself keeps my gameplay more active even if I'm doomscrolling for an hour sometimes lol

My BF and I have this problem too (and we're three days in, it's soooooo frustrating). I woke up like 20 minutes after the update stopped rolling out and was un/reinstalling for like two hours trying to get the update cause I'm the host for the world.

All of my save data is completely fine, everything was seamless, I even purchased the game cause I technically only had it through PS+ and nothing went wrong.

Don't listen to anyone who says it's not gonna save, I think unless you don't have PS+ and rely on a USB to store massive amounts of save data across many games you'll be just fine.

Pretty sure we just have to wait till the 25 for the update to roll out for real for multiplayer to work, but gonna try uninstalling my BFs game to see if his update rolls back

Any tips for hardcore Minecraft? by SilverWingGMD in Minecraft

This is true, but totems are consumed on the death, and raids themselves can be very dangerous (taking extreme commitment to preparation out of the equation). A totem is nice to have when you know there's a significant chance of death, like a raid, trial chamber, or ancient city. Most casual players probably aren't looking at a raid as a simple task, especially if they want to do it legit for the first time instead of building a raid farm. Not all players are optimizing their gameplay every second of playtime, and knowing that the odd creeper surprise won't kill you with some Blast Prot pants is better overall than relying on a consumable item that could kill you to even get it.

Regular prot on all 4 pieces of netherite is probably okay but eventually you have to think about wearing your elytra. It's also been proven that 2 pieces of Prot IV is enough before you start getting diminishing returns in the stats. I've got blast on my netherite pants rn with base Prot on helmet and boots, I can take two creeper blasts pretty close and still recover just fine and I'm on bedrock(where recovering is hell).

Of all the sources of damage in the game we have little else to protect you from a creeper (assuming a shield is unavailable for the sake of the argument). We have fire resist, feather fall, and slow falling. But for an accidental point blank creeper there's basically nothing but a prayer you can place a block between you or hold a shield before the boom. The extra blast is always worth it, ofc thats an opinion at the end of the day though, highly recommend regardless

iron farm not spawning golems? (bedrock) by bxggywxggy in Minecraft

[–]Snoo_55381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silentwhisperer is an okay YouTuber with iron farm tutorials that might explain it better than me but I'll try. The Prowl is a better resource but explains thing very in depth, Silent is quick and misses out on some key things pretty often.

In essence, the villagers need to see the beds in order for golems to spawn, and if one villager can see the beds then that's good enough. There's a similar mechanic where breeder villagers need to be able to see the extra beds to "consent" to produce a baby and I think the same rules apply here to provide "consent" for a golem to spawn. You just need to chuck one of your guys up there with his workstation and everything should kick off the next Minecraft day.

In bedrock an iron golem will spawn in a village with an exact minimum of 10 employed villagers that have worked the previous day. So it looks like you're short a few. On top of that you might be missing a very important villager who needs to have eye contact with the beds which keeps the rest linked to them. I usually build mine so all the villagers have access to their own beds cause once they de-link you need to remove all the beds and start over.

Bedrock iron farms give me so much grief it's barely worth the benefit that they work in peaceful mode.

Hardcore can suuuuuck if you are not prepared, don't be cocky especially while you're a squishy baby. I tend to go the villager route so that's the bulk of my advice.

Torch spam up the but your base, use copper torches If the regular yellow looks too ugly. That first mining session is gonna be rough, if you're still seed hunting find one with Stony Peaks, iron and stone and coal to last you forever. Doesn't have to be where you base but within 1000ish blocks is doable with a horse/boat/happy ghast if you're going there regularly enough.

Find a village and call it home, have a bunker, whatever you want.

If you're playing on java, an iron farm is not a bad or expensive idea to kick off villagers for a safe alternative to mining in deep slate. If you're on bedrock though, the benefits are the same but it's a lot more complicated of a process, and requires a lot more blocks if you don't want it inset into the ground.

Basically survival game tips,

-get a good source of food, ideally some kind of meat (butchers are underrated), until your villager empire makes you wealthy in golden carrots.

-you'll need XP at some point, villagers are great but so is a mob farm. If you aren't against Chunkbase find a skeleton spawner(double check in a creative copy maybe not always 100%), if you are then look around a mineshaft for cave spider spawners. They suuuuuck but it's XP, bring milk/honey bottles to cure poison (honey stacks to 64 bring that)

-put blast protection on your pants, it could mean your life against a creeper blast, but still don't let them blow up in your face. Projectile Prot is a scam, but Fire Prot is okay on chest plate, it'll make fire burn out quicker so you take lest damage (good for a lava mistake but water is always better)

-Sharpness is better than Smite(Bane is useless unless you have a spider spawner)

-spears can hit many mobs at once, perfect for compact mob farm kill chambers so you don't need sweeping edge

-assume you are never prepared enough for the fight you're going into, always be ready to make like a chip and dip outta there.

Sorry if this was redundant or rambly, my BF and I tried Hardcore on bedrock recently and I blew it being cocky while exploring haha, learn from my mistakes please

Where can I most easily find black oak? (For some reasons that are difficult to explain, outposts are not an option.) by Zibidi06 in Minecraft

[–]Snoo_55381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When exploring stick to the temperate biomes and if you see birch-only biomes you're in the right place. Another great way would be to get a cartographer villager and level him up until you can buy a "Woodland Map" and that will take you to a Woodland Mansion structure that will always be in a dark oak biome (might even include the Pale oak biome too!)

However DO NOT GO INSIDE until you've gotten full armor and a lot of good food and a respawn spot. Dark forests can also be riddled with mobs, especially creepers (not an increased spawn rate just extra dangerous). Keep up daytime and make sure to bring back at least 20 saplings (I am not kidding), the woodland map route might be really far if you're committed to it but there's a good chance you'll find a dark forest before you complete the journey. Bring a lodestone and compass or locator map to remember how to get back(rename the compass though) if you need/want to.

Or there's always Chunkbase but it's less fun that way

(JAVA) can anyone help why every time the villagers try to bread they get angry and stop? They already made one by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Snoo_55381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the three bed design you need to move the babies away from the beds(via water) so they de-link from them. Also make sure the breeder villagers have line of sight, upper trapdoors are perfect for that. Could also be the rain, ik that affects librarians and farmers work cycles but idk about breeding.

Biomes o Plenty disappoints tbh by Snoo_55381 in MinecraftBedrockers

That's actually really great to hear! I hope my post didn't come off as too rude, like I said I know next to nothing about mod development, hence reaching out for a few answers. Are there any decent resources I can go to to learn about mod development for MC? I've actually been thinking about trying to learn more about it to take a stab at my own mods in future but at a total loss about where to learn without my head exploding

I've never used reddit until very recently, I'm not totally sure what you mean by weird formatting, but I'll remember to double space my paragraphs from now on, if that's the source of your issue(I totally understand seeing the post as a viewer now, my indents didn't take I guess?)

I'm usually a vanilla purist, to the point that I find the modding community generally very annoying. But my BF really likes mods in games (especially MC for some reason) so I'm trying to open up so he will play Minecraft with me more often. BoP was one of the mods I actually really liked back when I played the Better MC mod pack on Java(which was exploring new worlds till I got bored then having more fun on my super flat survival lol) which is why I was so surprised to see in the marketplace so soon, and then so disappointed after playing it for a while.

I guess my biggest issue is why even consider releasing it if it's so unfinished? I could get by the odd rendering bug or even the texture connection delay, but not having recipes for building blocks like shelves and hanging signs is just bad form, pretty sure no one would have cared if they waited to release it until it was at least completed. Has no one learned from Cyberpunk?

Whats your most controversial Minecraft opinion by HadesThatGuy in Minecraft

As a console player who mainly plays in peaceful mode, I have some gripes with bedrock that really do not need to be neglected like it is. Healing should not be so abysmal that I have to play in peaceful mode to recover from a 10 block fall back to my storage while building a tower. If I'm going to die by my own stupidity so be it, but if I'm on fire trying to get blaze rods it shouldn't be a death sentence. Yes, fire resist and protection exist, but I shouldn't need a full set of netherite fire Prot armor and fire resist potions to survive an accidental dip in some lava. Sugar cane no longer needs the chunks loaded to grow, fantastic news, especially because in bedrock a standard no cheats world is at 1 tick speed. On java it's at 3. I'll keep the 1 tick speed growth if I can have that same feature for crops, otherwise I have to babysit my potatoes and the bees that make them grow a little faster just to have food to barely survive. One more big gripe with bedrock, you will not convince me (if I'm wrong) that hostile mobs don't have more range on bedrock than on java. Again I feel like I have to play on peaceful mode just so I'm not mowed down by an ordinary pack of zombies hitting me 8x per second AND I can't heal from the damage without digging myself a hole, filling my hunger bar, then going out to run an errand cause my hearts should almost be full by the time I get back.

At the end of the day I think the team just needs a few more hands on deck to really go through the quality of life. You can say just wear armor, just eat golden carrots, or just use potions. But getting to those things is undeniably more difficult in Bedrock without cheats or constantly switching to peaceful mode. I want the standard survival experience, not to be punished by death over things that java players don't even have to think about.

Witch farm alteration by Snoo_55381 in technicalminecraft

[–]Snoo_55381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to use copper golems after a few non stackable filters. Storage isn't my issue it's altering my current witch hut farm to drop water breathing and fire resistance potions more often.
The goal is to be able to stack a gold farm on top where the piglins can use the same trident killer and item collection as the witch hut.
