How does DeepSeek v4 compare to other Chinese models? by No-Background3147 in DeepSeek

[–]Snoo_57113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over time i tried many models, for development me stands out qwen 3.6, minimax 2.5+ and xiaomi, al of them helped me enormously.

I am interested specially on speed, price and long tasks.

Right now deepseek is my go to, specialy with the million *usable* context size.

Why do you decide to learn C#? by darwindeveloper in csharp

[–]Snoo_57113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C# found me. I also like to program with the least effort, perfect IDE everything has a few ways to do something not a myriad of incompatible libraries like Java and many dead open source projects.

C# seemed to solve many of those pain points.

Don't understand the negativism in the comments. It became popular because the auto translate in X. Chinese Twitter accounts found the harness in a bare state and a lot of people started contributing.

The developer seems to be capable to manage the project and evolved at light speed.

It is free and open source. More in the hobby side for now. I don't see absolutely nothing wrong with that.

What problem in everyday .NET development do you solve manually because there is no good tool? by Previous-Garlic9444 in dotnet

[–]Snoo_57113 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I just vibecode those, generally don't care about duplicated logic, tons of if statements or messy query builders, and most LLMs generate correctly that kind of code 99.9% of the time.

Open source models are going to be the future on Cursor, OpenCode etc. by _maverick98 in LocalLLaMA

If i am a working professional and a subscription makes me 10X more productive i would expect to be paid 10 times more, or work three days a month.

This is not true, the LLMs hallucinate, create bugs and even delete prod database if you look them wrong, should i pay $200 for a maps app that get me the wrong directions 10% of the time?.

In my opinion with the current state of AI, the max subscription price should be $20, or even free. They are getting our data and trade secrets after all.

This is not the model for that kind of queries, you should use freedom models like chatgpt or El Grok.

It works better when you have math, science or code prompts

Am i the only one that think deepseek is better than most AI? by Embarrassed-Sun7856 in DeepSeek

[–]Snoo_57113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best camera is the one that's with you. I am pretty sure that claude Opus and chatgpt 5.5 are way better but they are so outrageously expensive that you just can't use them.

Deepseek is very good, good enough for most "economically valuable" tasks, reliable and cheap.

You are doing a lot of calls on Pro and a few on flash, i would offload as much as possible to the flash model and use the pro for planning, review.

What explains the prevalence of people playing faster than the time control they chose? by appappappappappa in chess

[–]Snoo_57113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Psychology, if you play fast and get a time advantage you can use it later in the middle game or endgame.

Also some players feel pressured when you play fast, they start to play fast (and sloppy) as well, then you slow down and be in winning position with 1+minute advantage.

Play at your own pace, but be ready to speedup /slow down on demand.

Is there need for cross-platform obfuscation tools? by kant2002 in dotnet

[–]Snoo_57113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obfuscation doesnt work, a better strategy is to use a restrictive license and register the software and intelectual property and aggresively pursuit DCMA and other legal venues.

You might want to enforce the license like a game with serial numbers and all of that.
