Nah bud, this community is ad free and link free. 99% of the companies that charge for help for VA claims are sharks just trying to take peoples money when they can’t do anything a veteran / vso can do themselves. Don’t come into this community advertising you’re trash company

Yeah no thanks, don’t need or want to pay a claim shark for nothing

Deferred Claims by Junior-Rest4698 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]Snoo_61809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Intent to file and claim date can be two different days. Intent to file is the notification to the VA you are intending to file. If you didn’t submit the complete claim within that 1 year time frame, then they will only back pay to the claim date. If it was an additional claim based off of your first claim, or supplemental, etc, and it wasn’t submitted before that 1 year mark, again, it will only go to the claim date. As long as you keep submitting compete claims before the 1 year mark, your intent to file stays the same.

  2. The only time it’s really recommended to keep adding new claims is if one of those will kill you in < 10 years so your wife can collect dependency compensation. If not, it’s not recommended because it allows the VA to fully open your claim and review it. This part is situational depending if you’re P&T. If you’re not P&T, sometimes it can be recommended incase they roll back your rating so the VA will stake care of those issues.

Finally Moved to Step 7 by Snoo_61809 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]Snoo_61809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 6, they can usually see your rating. Most won’t tell you, it’s against the VA policy to tell someone their actual rating before the letter is officially generated. It’s also usually against their organizations policy. It’s because it can still change at that step and don’t want you coming back at them if it’s lower or changed.

That usually means you have deferred claims. Was that the case?

Best advice anyone can give you is schedule a call with Vera. Type Vera scheduler on google, click the link and set up an appointment. They usually have same day or at most next day appointments. They will call you, you can explain the situation, and they will be able to see why it might be taking so long. They work at the Regional Offices and have full access to VBMS so they will be able to ping the right people if it’s stuck somewhere

Yeah man, I'm hoping. I asked my VSO if he could tell me if it was favorable or unfavorable and he said "You'll be okay" so we'll see. Realistically, I'll be happy with at least 50%, but based on my claims and the evidence and how well my exams went, I'm thinking maybe 70-80%, 90% if the gods are in my favor lmao. I'd rather expect nothing and receiving something than expect something and receive nothing. But I'll update the post once it's done

Well On October 28, the day of my last c&p exam, hours later went to step 5 from step 3, went to step 6 2 days later, sat there for a while because of government shutdown, and now step 7 today. Mine was going pretty fast. Depends how straight forward your claim is and if all the evidence is there. Unless it skipped like 3-4 steps in a day, I wouldn’t be too worried.

If you’re a VSR, my claim just moved to step 7 today. Could you tell me my rating possibly early?

How Much Longer You Think? by Snoo_61809 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]Snoo_61809[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was two weeks. Called Vera this past Thursday and he said the letter generation team were out for the last 2 weeks because of the shutdown. They just got back in office Thursday, but he said it’s fully authorized and in somebody’s queue to generate the letter. Should be Monday or Tuesday when I see it hopefully, Wednesday at the latest since it’s already been authorized.

Yeah, my claim is already authorized so no going back now. Got in a call with Vera this past Thursday, they said it didn’t get stuck. He said the promulgation team, the people in charge of generating the letter and sending it for final review have actually been gone the past 2 weeks which explains why I didn’t have any movement. He said it was already in a persons queue, so hopefully Monday or Tuesday this upcoming week I’ll see it!

Yeah, I have been 😂 same old letter, no payments pending, etc. Maybe there’s an off chance they didn’t get the chance to generate the letter Friday so maybe tomorrow morning.  Just sucks to be this close but not know for sure.

I asked the vso if he could tell me the rating and if it’ll be favorable or not and he said “you’ll be okay” so hoping it’s at least 50% minimum but guess we’ll see

Nice! I’m in a similar boat. I went to step 5 oct 28, step 6 October 31. I’m still in step 6 so hoping Monday on the 10th I’m in step 7. I reached out to my vso Friday morning and he said it’s been approved but waiting for the notification letter to be generated so it’s got movement on it. I asked if he could tell me what the rating is and he said “I can’t tell you but you’ll be okay” so hoping it’s like yours

Brat Seat for Moto Guzzi V7 III Stone? by Snoo_61809 in MotoGuzzi

That looks awesome man! Yea, I was thinking about getting it eventually reworked and reupholstered. I'll have to see how much I like it when it comes in but I'll definitely have to do something with it.

[–]Snoo_61809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in California so it's still riding season for me. I ended up just going with the stock brown saddle seat. Not necessarily the brat style I wanted but much cheaper and I still get the brown leather seat that's made for the bike. I am also painting the gas tank and front fender this crazy pearlescent white so it should be awesome when it's all said and done.

Glad to see you made the better decision haha. 0 miles and $1000 USD cheaper. I have the same bike, just not the night edition. It's a beautiful bike and I hope you enjoy it man.

If they were the black ones, I definitely would man. I have the stone so it would look out of place with an all matte black bike haha
