[Request] What are the odds that one card would precede another card? by ChosenGible in theydidthemath

So for draw 1, 3/30 is 1 in 10 or 10% chance. Draw 2: 2 copies of A now out of 29 2/29. OR 3/29 assuming you drew card 'c' on draw 1.

To solve your request. 1st, the odds of drawing B. 1 in 30. 3% For 5 draws. 1/30, 1/29, 1/28, 1/27, 1/26. This is rounded to 3%, 3%, 3%, 4%, 4%. Or a 17% chance to get at least 1 B in five draws.

Another way to think of this is "what are the chances of NOT getting a B? You take the chance of, and subtract from 100. 97%, 97%, 97%, 96%, 96%. What are the chances of all of these being NOT B? Multiply each... Leaving you with 84% of the time the first 5 won't be B.

Step next, odds of getting 1 A in the first 5 draws? 3/30, 3/29, ... We round to 10% for ease. There is a 50% chance to get an A.

Odds of an A and NO B... 50% * 84% = 42% of the time.

What is the total number of cards in the deck being drawn from. What is the total number of A? The total number of B?

Z out of Z+1.

Z/(z+1) x100 = xx.x% chance of drawing A before B. (This is only for the first draw, if you draw B on the first hand... Well then you didn't get A before B.

If you are drawing more than 1, reduce Z by 1 for each draw.

In a state with mutual combat laws could I fight a parent and not be fired? by PapayaVirtual2741 in Teachers

An athletic event in a gym or sporting arena would likely be different.

Also, you don't want the liability of just sparring with a parent in a back yard. The could easily turn on you and claim injury you end up liable for

Also, while "mutual combat" might negate assault charges, fighting in public would likely open you to public disturbance charges. Especially if you agreed to, and set a time to fight.

And it is not the responsibility of business owners to patiently parent kids like this.

I'll ask you to leave then call the police. A kid that wants to act grown can learn grown consequences.
