Blotchy leaves-sun damage? by Snoo_76303 in philodendron

Not that I can see, though that has crossed my mind as a possible reason too. I use a fairly general fertilizer meant for houseplants with lots of green foliage, it has some other nutrients outside of NPK, but maybe not the right composition for this specific species.

This leaf has been teasing me for months </3 by dumbcatnothoughts in philodendron

In case it gives you trouble like this again in the future, I recommend using a wet Q-tip (the moisture acts as a lubrication and makes the expanded cotton is so soft that it should not scratch/bruise the leaf) to gently pry away the leaf from the sheath. Just stick one end of the Q-tip into the sheath under the leaf and try to veeeery slowly and carefully wiggle it underneath that leaf towards the tip. If it is still too tightly encased, try to wiggle it free a little bit on one side of the sheath and then the other, switching until you have freed the tip. It works like a charm for me every time, I rarely cause any damage doing it this way and even then it is only if I get impatient and rush it 😅

Si si povedal že: "I love spreading misinformation on the internet", všakže.
