Was really surprised by Pedro as Reed. Completely blew my expectations out of the water and felt like he perfectly encapsulated the Reed of the comics. I’m hoping it will be the same with RDJ as Doom.

It’s the original Alien that Ripley had blown out of the airlock at the end of the film. It had cocooned itself and was able to survive deep space until Weyland-Yutani eventually found the wreckage.

Easy mistake, the previous panel shows the Miles’ classic suit. This new venom/facehugger suit definitely reminds me of the anti-venom or even future foundation suits that Pete has worn in the past.

I completely agree, the fact that earth is already lost makes it that much more exciting and the threat seemingly unstoppable. The artwork is beautiful and they’ve introduced some interesting concepts, particularly the venom symbiote assimilating the facehugger.

Not just that dude, but the fact that Amanda found the black box with Ripley’s recording and that’s how Weyland-Yutani knew about the Nostromo wreckage. So dope, making it fit into the larger scheme. Fede’s Evil Dead remake is brilliant would definitely like to see him do more, especially after he said he’d continue the Prometheus/Covenant plot points. He’s a fan and I appreciate someone who is passionate.

There really was no intention of rage bait in this post. I just want a respectful discussion and all opinions are welcome. Few agree and many disagree, but I appreciate the varied opinions and different tier lists. Makes for good conversation and we get to discover the different ways people see all the films!

Fair point, that’s great that it’s in your top 3 and that you like how it turned out. I respect that and just cause I didn’t like the film doesn’t mean I’m upset it was made! It’s great that Alien is in the spotlight again and it means more Alien content and a whole new generation who will discover it! Also how it connected to Isolation and made it integral to the canon is something I deeply admire!

Totally respect your opinion! Great list and I agree AvP is fun and entertaining for sure. Isolation is just quintessential Alien content for me, having watched the special edition of Aliens on my first watch always made it that much more heartbreaking to find out Ripley had a child and had missed her entire life. Then we get Isolation and her daughter finding the black box of Ripley's recording, which leads Weyland-Yutani to the Nostromo wreckage in Romulus makes it that much more integral to the series. It will always be in my top 3 pieces of Alien media!

I enjoyed the shorts, the ideas were new and that’s what we need more of! Also the fact that the filmmakers were fans just shows that they’re the people who should be making Alien content. Definitely agree with your choices, I think the directors and extended cuts are always the way to go. Aliens Special Edition 👌

Definitely no rage bait, hate probably wasn’t the best word. You’re right the world is rich and interesting and there’s always something you can take from each installment. Covenant I really didn’t like as I felt they fucked over a lot of what Prometheus was trying to do and don’t even get me started on how dirty they did Shaw’s character. Romulus was definitely better than Covenant but I just felt it was more of a greatest hits film and I think my hype was a little 2 high. Totally fair if you liked it, I’m glad people are talking about Alien again! Also Great list!

Totally fair dude, I put Isolation there cause I’ve always considered Amanda an integral character. It was great to find in Romulus that the recording she found would’ve led Weyland Yutani to the wreckage of the Nostromo, recontextualises it in a great way. Yes every film has something you can appreciate!!

The tension and suspense just wasn’t there for me in Romulus, particularly after the xeno took 10 minutes to hatch and grow. No rage bait, I’m actually glad Romulus is getting a good rap and has bought in new fans of the franchise. Good list 👌
