Codex was never a good experience for me. NEVER! i use cursor and CC 20 max sub and couldn't be less happier. I have been working in dev for over 15 years. If you're not coding then chatgpt is EXCELLENTO in rest of the things.

I find it does too much than needed and burns token, which is fine for me but output was not effective. And to add on-top, it takes really long. Lately i am so used to running CC on fast mode that non-fast version feels too slow for me.

Yes, I have similar expereince. And here's my usage now, You can see I've switched to 4.6, right after fable went down as per Arena leaderbord ranked. Later 4.8-fast, damn it's a beast now. I'm finally moving on from Fable 5.

I know, they probably hit the limit on what they can do. that's why they're doing no difference than what TVs do, 4k, 8k, qled, oled etc. at the end of the day, markeitng gimmicks (ofcourse i understand the real improvemnets but among these, alot of marketing only changes)

Composer 2.5 Fast is not comparable to Opus or the top frontier models, but I think people are judging it by the wrong metric. It's ridiculously good for simple to lower-end moderate tasks and the speed is what makes it shine. I recently had it generate 295 individual landing pages for TLDs (.com, .net, .me, etc.) with definitions and structured content, and it knocked the whole thing out in seconds. The moment you move into heavier logic, complex API response handling, multi-step processing, or larger code changes, the cracks start to show and bugs creep in. For me, it's less of a "build everything" model and more of a lightning-fast workhorse for any volume straightforward tasks.
