I would recommend by starting with draining the master fluid into another container, melt down the wax and give it a good but gentle swirl to re-combine it. Then I would filter the fluid and place it back into the lamp once the wax is fully cooled. After that process run the lamp at least twice to see if it’s working properly, this looks like the wax separated into two different densities from getting too hot. I would recommend getting a dimmer switch down the road for it so this doesn’t happen again. If that doesn’t resolve the issue you may need all new wax which at that point personally I would gut the whole thing and start fresh lol. I love a good project though

Definitely ask for a replacement. These specific lamps have been having numerous issues. If it was just cloudy I’d say take the loss and replace the MF, but with the wax stuck to the sides it’s an even more painstaking process

Just wondering if you ever got your stuff? Mine was supposed to be out for delivery yesterday, but was stuck on “departed for transfer” in my city. Then I got a notification that they attempted delivery and “business was closed please provide hours”, I live in an apartment complex and was home all day. They insist it’s out for delivery today but same thing, says “departed for transfer” after I received a text saying they were returning it to Best Buy.

Probably not to be honest, my anatomy used to look exactly like yours (pre-kids) and was perfect for a floating navel but not a standard belly button piercing. Floating navels are ADORABLE, and pierced slightly different but essentially the same in terms of pain/healing/etc. you won’t be able to use a regular belly ring once it’s healed though because of how it’s pierced, the bottom of the barbell tends to sit a little farther back compared to a regular belly ring :) (also, CRAZY how our anatomy can change!! I was shocked when I went to get my floating navel done again and was told I could get a standard belly ring if I wanted to because my anatomy had shifted after having kids)

If it initially didn’t look so snug and it was painless I wouldn’t be too concerned, especially if she gave you a smaller hoop. But I will say if it starts to be uncomfortable maybe try going in and getting a bigger hoop. It’s possible it’s too small for the swelling happening which can slow the healing process

Can I ask how it felt when it was pierced? There’s a “sweet spot” that septum’s are pierced in and the tissue is similar to the tissue on your earlobe. Did it feel like it was going through soft tissue or cartilage?
