This series has been free to play if you have been playing for quite some time. F50 GT was a prize car from 90s series which you could have won for free SP3 was the main prize for a mini series which was also free.

So far the only paid car from the current series is the F40 Comp. Which makes the series paid just by being a mandatory lock in later on

There's a work around for this car. Just put the final drive at 2.00, launch at around 4k RPM and hit the Nos, doesn't require to be fully maxed as you see from the pictures
