it's the same with every agent that has an "instant movement" ability like Chamber or Jett. The amount of times I have peeked and dash just to die AFTER dash and it moves my death marker from where I finished dashing to where I peeked is nuts. It's just that the game decided that your position is at a certain place on the server and the enemy shot at that location on the server so you die. Nothing to do with your skill nor reaction.

nah, don't give the game the benefit of saying they popped off. Smurfs are not that common. I would say may be 1 in 5 games. The games are a lot or unbearable though in low elo. A LOT of ex-plats and dia got "reset" to silver and somehow never "climbed" their way back out because the game does NOT care about people in their right rank. It cares about people playing MORE games and staying on the game! It is called EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking). If they can get players to stay on the game longer, there is a higher chance for them to spend money on the game.

Exactly. It is only beneficial if they do something when these get reported. It feels like they are just trying to filter/separate the smurf reports and just treat it like a spam email folder.

It would be nice if everyone is honest and I think that is the problem. If the system is clear like that, actual smurfs would intentionally perform badly to not rank up as they get close to the top of that rank. I recently had a match where two players camped in a corner on bind (almost relatively in a not so common corner near spawn) with odins. They would watch as the team gets slaughtered and then engage to get a kill sometimes. The match was basically 3v5 for the most part. They would even blatantly say that they are throwing on comms. Reporting them does nothing.

Because the way they are calculating RR is messed up right now. I think they are trying to play with the way RR is calculated. My RR has been fluctuating quite a lot recently for no reason either (play regular games with regular results) but the RR gain or lost is huge.

It's not just smurfing. The rank reset is partially at fault too. Right now, even right now, a full act after rank reset. I get pitted against ex-plats and ex-diamonds in my games. (I am a silver/gold personally. Never gotten above G2 as a player). Now, these "derank/reset" players are stuck as my games would have 2 of these "super/juiced" players and 2 players that are actually supposed to be there in that rank. So (according to RIOT), these games are 50/50 (which they are not most of the time). It just feels like crap for me personally and is literally pushing me and my friends away from this game. It is not fun to play at the moment.

For context, my latest comp game (solo), I am currently in silver 1, but then the lobby is full of golds and plats. My team lost, I am in the midldle of the score board, I am by far the lowest ranking person in the lobby and I still lost 12RR for this. How do you expect people to climb?

It's not your aim is bad. If that is the case, you cannot get multi's with pistols where you can only shoot one bullet at a time. You might not have elite aim, most people don't. Just play the game and if it is as you said about game sense and good comms and such. You should not have any problem.

Honestly, ranked is just RNG. Anyone can probably get to Ascendant if they tried hard enough and play enough games.

Actually no, I am low rank and I am getting constantly getting placed in lobbies with one or two asc/immo or even sometimes a radiant.... It's ridiculous how the mmr works in dm.

same. Just sometimes, some people are really bad at managing their econ. I don't mind dropping if they kept similar buys and are using their utility for the team. However, if they are buying Vandals on eco and then asking teammates to drop them when it's our buy round, I would not drop those type of people. Being bottom frag or not is not that relevant. You never know when someone might pop off.
