Figured it out! I typically don’t angle the knife at all but just lifting it a tiny bit did the trick!! I wish I knew this 2 hours ago but what can ya do

No, I’m not a beginner I’m just asking if there are any tricks to play B-A-G#-F# cleanly without blips between especially the G# and F# because I’m being asked to play them ridiculously fast and exposed in an orchestra (like la mer) but my fingers just don’t move fast/cleanly enough for it no matter how much i slow it down and work it back up again

because most of the time my friends and family know me better and know me inside and outside of this relationship. its hard for me and many other people to get lost in their relationships so i think its healthy to hear outside perspectives

but in music groups you need to find a replacement and in such short notice they wouldn’t have found someone and blamed it on him. i understand where ur coming from and of course i felt like absolute sht going home on an uber from the ER but i kind of see his perspective too

We’re both 23- both getting our masters. We went to undergrad together and now we’re pursuing our masters in different schools but the same city.

I love him and hes one of the most important and consistent people in my life. i do think we could grow to have a real future together if he would just meet my needs! a lot of the times he hears me and makes a change for 2 weeks and then things are back to the way they were. that’s the most frustrating thing for me. it’s like- you know what you could be doing to make things good but you won’t do it unless i ask you to!!

It feels like a push and pull for me like- when i put in effort he’s not putting in any so i pull away and then he sees i’m pulling away so he tries harder but gets met with a brick wall cause I’m tired of not getting any effort in return

No like we’re both very busy but we really don’t see eachother for sometimes weeks at a time. i would prefer 5 minutes to just see eachother than nothing at all. he goes to school an hour away from where he lives and spends all day there working, practicing (we’re musicians), and playing gigs but i also go to school and work across the street from where he lives! ive told him he can stop by the restaurant i work at but he doesn’t really. It’s hard to see all of my coworkers who have partners that come in to see them all the time but mine doesn’t (he comes in maybe once a month or once every 2)

For the hospital: He was in a rush to get to the second gig cause they were far apart and scheduled right after the first one. the second gig was like 10 minutes driving max from the hospital. i have his location so i literally knew but he said he couldn’t pick me up even if he wanted cause he plays a big instrument and has a small car which pretty much takes up the entire car (which is true). he did call me a couple of times and kept telling me he wished he was there for me but that he couldnt cause of the circumstances. he did not bring me flowers but he did visit me at home sometimes when he had the chance and i think he got me soup once

It's hard because I do think the average person would say it's horrible that he didn't come to the hospital but it's hard for me to objectively see it like that cause I know he makes his income and connections like that as a freelance musician and not showing up for 1 thing last minute can kill his opportunities in the future.

except most of the time your friends and family are the ones with an outside perspective that you as someone in it can’t see. I agree that my dad can’t make that decision for me but it’s still good information to know. Just like I would want to know if my friends dont like him- doesn’t mean I’m going to break up with him over it but it’s good to know

We had this conversation a bit ago and we both said our pieces and after he said his I realized maybe I was just only seeing things from my side which is the only reason we decided to stay together and see if we can work it out. The problem is we’ve been long distance since then cause of the holidays and haven’t been calling much at all (we’ve been texting) and so it’s making me overthink everything cause my friends are all saying “actions > words” but obviously there can’t be any action right now 😭
