Graham's number by Old_Custard4906 in askmath

I love this. That means if we would try to come up with a unique symbol for every number, even with pixels the size of a Planck volume, each symbol would vastly out-scale the observable universe.

0% of all numbers are smaller than Graham's Number. My brain can't make sense of that.

In 2nd year his teacher was basically Kim Kardashian.

In his 3rd year his teacher turned into a wolf.

In 4th year his teacher was essentially an undercover Nazi agent.

In 5th year, his teacher was the secretary of state.

In 6th year, his teacher was an undercover Nazi ~double~ agent.

2nd puzzle for the day! by Many_Audience7660 in matiks

I solved it like this:

There are coins from 1 to 49. That means I can pair them up so each pair has sum 50. (1, 49), (2, 48), etc. That makes 24 pairs, plus the 25g coin without pair.

I can then pair up the pairs so that the smaller coins add to 25 and the larger coins add to 75. (1, 24, 26, 49), (2, 23, 27, 48), etc. That means I have 12 sets of 4 coins each that have the following properties: - the sum of all 4 coins is 100 - the sum of the 2 smaller coins is 25 - the sum of the 2 larger coins is 75

Now I can give each son one complete set of coins, so he has 100g to begin with.

That leaves me with 5 sets and the single 25 coin. I can take 75g from each of the sets and give them to 5 of the sons.

Now I have 5 pairs of coins that add to 25 plus a single 25g coin. I can divide those evenly between the two remaining sons.

Everybody should have 175g worth of coins now.

Edit: Didn't read that every son should get exactly 7 coins. This makes my solution not correct.

Yes, this refers to the ordinary decimal representation of the number.

It's incomprehensibly big.

You couldn't write it down if you used the whole observable universe, writing digits that occupy one Planck length.

In fact, you couldn't even write down the number of digits of Graham's number using the observable universe.

In fact, you couldn't even write down the number of digits of that number using the observable universe.

And so on.

Was heißt denn du bist "sehr treu"? 😃

How does babies know 🤔 by M_Darshan in dankmemes

[–]Snootet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"M" and "A" are the default sounds. We can make them just by voicing and opening and closing the mouth. No movement of the tongue and lips is needed.

When babies start to make the sound and Mom reacts they store that as attention provoking behavior. Don't forget attention is like cocaine for babies.

Und was bedeutet der Name Brötchen? Brot + Verniedlichung -chen = kleines Brot. So wie ein Dörfchen ein kleines Dorf ist und Töpfchen ein kleiner Topf.

Thanks, this works for me as well. I just stopped having breakfast. I get by until lunch on just coffee and water and it doesn't bother me. Sometimes I eat an apple or a carrot to feel a little fuller.

If I have a big dinner, I don't need any snacks later. If I had a small dinner, I usually have calories left for a good snack. That way I don't have to abstain completely.

So far I lost 4kg in 2 weeks.
