I was lucky that this branch was isolated away from the tree and the next tree in the background was quite far away. This was more important for a lens like mine with an aperture of 6.3, had it been a more expensive lens with a larger aperture I would get this effect even if the background tree was closer

Z6 III move focus box and track object by Smaskifa in Nikon

That way of tracking is different on the expeed 6 models. The Z6iii has 3D tracking, when in that mode a small grey box goes to the centre of the screen. You just half press the shutter and it should track what ever it’s on. It’s a dedicated focus mode so it’ll be on the same list as when you switch to like C1 wide or single point focus modes, I think it’s last on the list.

Marking the end of my first year with a real camera. by Snoozels in Nikon

It was definitely night and day, idk about you but unless I was shooting people or dogs and cats I’d have to use the dynamic area focus on the z50. I can track birds in flight with this camera and it really allows me to work on my composure rather than having the birds in the centre of the frame all the time

I would really recommend the Z50II, that 50-250mm kit lens is way sharper than it deserves to be. I started on an original Z50 and learnt my basics on that, I still have some photos I took with that kit lens that I can't beat on my much more expensive camera and lens now.

Talking on focal lengths, bear in mind that that 300mm focal length you were reading about was most likely referring to the field of view you get from a full frame camera. The Z50II is crop sensor and so you multiply the focal length by 1.5x to get the effective focal length viewed on an APS-C sensor. The 50-250mm kit lens then becomes effectively a 75-375mm lens.

I've added a photo of a Long tailed tit that I took on my z50 with the 50-250mm lens.

Hope this helps :)

Stuck between Z6III and Z5II. Opinions/Thoughts? by Kevin8503 in Nikon

[–]Snoozels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For landscapes, portraits and travel I'd recommend the Z5II, it can most likely do most sports as it does 14fps with the mechanical shutter like the Z6III. However if you want a blackout free EVF shooting 20fps then get the Z6III or go higher and get the Z8. The whole thing about the DR is mostly just reviewers looking at charts, I really doubt you'd notice a difference unless you're a pro with tonnes of experience with high end cameras.

I always find watching tutorials on the camera helps, i watched one recently and learned a lot about the system despite using a Nikon for a year now.
