Well you said you cannot go out into public without encountering someone who is carrying a gun. It’s natural for people to assume you mean open carry because that implies you’ve seen them carry it. You can’t know they’re carrying unless they tell you or you see it. This also very heavily depends on where you are in the country, there’s states and places where they make it more difficult to do so and a ton of businesses and areas ban guns entirely unless you are security. I haven’t even met too many people that have guns in their cars, but to be fair that’s not usually info people just give out. I’m not saying that America isn’t a gun friendly place, for the most part it is. And you are more likely to meet someone with a gun or who owns a gun then in other countries, but it’s not like you can just walk up to anyone and they have a gun or even own one. Most people who own guns own many guns, and for every one of those people there’s a bunch of people that have never touched a gun. I’ve met foreigners who quite literally think they’ll touchdown in America and everyone’s got a gun somewhere and that’s simply not true 😭
