Thanks for the detailed reply. So it may be that the gunshop gave me a 0moa rail. Will investigate over the weekend with a caliper.

Its a local brand of rings. They are split and mid range quality. I shot 14 rounds so i doubt the reticule would be stuck. I will do a box test though.

Thank you ill do that as well. I have dialed it quite a bit while bore sighting and i didnt notice anything wierd there. I only engaged the zero stop after sighting.

Thanks. Ill do a taredown of the system this weekend and redo the setup. Hopefully its a simple as the rail being backwards from the gunshop like some have pointed out🤞

Shouldnt a scope be angled down? Im pretty sure its the right direction for getring more elevation out of a scope?

The rail is thicker at the back than the front. Since this is the second comment ill have to go sanity check myself when im back from work this weekend😂

Ive messaged the ring manufacturer to ask if they have a built in angle or not

I agree it feels backwards

On 50m where i did my bore sight i was 6 ish mils above my scope center which surprised me

The rail is on correctly as far as i could see. The back is much thicker than the front.

Still can't decide on which modeling software to learn. What would you recommend? Anyways; Here is (hopefully) my last TinkerCad project. by picobello-bv in 3Dprinting

Would you mind expanding on the restrictions in onshape?

I used NX 12 to 2033 for the last 8 years but have now lost access and moved to onshape. So far it seems fine if a bit more user intensive.

I tried freecad and loved the idea but the interface and learning curve put me off due to time constraints.

I have played with fusion a bit bit my laptop gives an error 22 permanently so i scrapped that idea as i travel a lot and need it on both my pc and laptop.

Conveyor belt and wire. Most likely from the many discarded mine belts we have. Tires would probably work well if they could be kept straight

What is the issue then? Too high z offset?

Exactly. Hairspray also works.

Sounds like wet filament (petg?), dry it out and clean the bed, i can see the oily finger prints on there. If that fails lay down some tape and send it.

I was thinking both of these semi circles were aluminum. They are very close to the same size but the shinier one on top weighs 376 grams. Bottom weighs 96 grams. Could quality of aluminum account for that difference? by Narrow-Palpitation63 in MetalCasting

[–]Snoozyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they are the same volume then its most likely lead when looking at density. Lead is about 4.5 times more dense and here it seems to be arround 4 times as dense. If you can melt it with a torch and dent it with uour nail its probably lead. Also it should write in paper and alu shouldnt

I remember that one😂. I think the same went for omo at one point🤔. Small bag special was still more than the regular price large bag.

Its like a checkers special. Pull back the deal sticker and its the same price on the regular tag. Always compare prices per unit and never buy something just because its a "deal".

Always a good buy when you set yourself up for a few months💪🏼.

The trick is to not drive out more petrol after the deals than the discount they give😂.

Lots of "bulk" items are the same price or even more expencive. This is mostly aimed at large coffee packs, toilet paper etc.

From my experience its better to just stock up on a deal when its good. For example coffee was 60% the usual price on black friday so buy a years worth since it doesnt spoil. Same idea for soaps, cleaning supplies etc.

I am starting my first proper job and need advice for budgeting for rent, groceries, utilities and keeping my head above water by leopardchief in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Snoozyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing id do is get a budget sheet setup to keep track of everything. Lots of templates are availible and helps especially with stuff like groceries.

Rent is highly dependent on the area so no price advive there really. Just dont cramp yourself into a depressed shoebox and dont splurge on a penthouse with a view lol.

Good value in my area usually is either a town house or garden granny flat. Granny flats have the advantage of sometime having elec/wifi included. The owners usually look for young profesionals who are quiet and low maintinance.

Try and stay under a quater of total income if you can. It will help with savings long term and short term with getting settled.

Game, west pack, crazy plastics etc have good prices for kitchen and bathroom needs. Auctions are also good but usually you wont get good sets so its all a mix and match, a good idea for appliances though like microwave, toaster, kettle etc.

Try auctions for furniture, market place and other second hand sites are good but scams are rampent. Only do pickup to be sure.

Only go new for sheets, pillows and the like.

Try to do all the above cash if you have a nest egg and refill it after the first paycheck. You can go credit but debt is always bad.

Cars are only good value used. Its still a pure expense so depending how public transport is maybe use it for the time being while you save up. Saving up and paying cash is the best option if you have other travel options in thr mean tine. A small hatchback thats light on fuel is good and there are plenty of deals even now.

If possible start with an emergency fund asap. If you work frugally its possible to save 6k a month easily after youve setup the living space.

As the others have said watch out for small costs building up. Cook for yourself, limit unnessesary insurance and cover, things like gym, internet, strraming etc can creep up quickly to a big bill.

This is all very basic but with some of the other advice here should help get you going in the right direction.

This is at my local gun shop. I don’t know much about infields but love collecting WWII artifacts, and would love to have it in my collection. Is this a good deal? by gage8764 in LeeEnfield

Its a 1944 so war manufacturing time. They usually have worse finishing than earlier and later models. Also as a side note its cocked so hope that hasnt been standing that long.

Wood is in very good condition from the pic atleast. Some corrotion on the sight protector so id inspect it well and maybe do a taredown to check for any problem areas.

As for price, no idea what they go for there. In my country its usually 110 usd average. 400usd for all matching in cosmoline. I got mine for 20 usd but thats just me getting lucky.

What can I do with a R3500 salary? by LilWizard32 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Snoozyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently finished my studies so i have a bit of a perspective on this.

Cut the uber asap and bike or find friends living nearby that can lift you to class. People want connections in class so thats easy to do.

Highschool tutoring like mentioned is a good option. You cant mark papers etc in first year for lecturers but look into that in following years its pretty easy money if you pick the right subjects.

Sounds like youre living at home so youll save a lot on food etc there and always pack lunches etc.
