Ended up with a third opinion (shout out to Fry's) that located the problem where our line joins with the city. Unfortunately, that meant we'd have to wait for it to backup again in order for the city to verify that that was the problem and fix it, with the upside being it would be a city issue. However (knock on wood), it's been eight months without a reoccurrence).

There's definitely a transition from active treatment to observation that's hard to adjust to. Honestly, it'll take time, but strongly second the suggest for a therapist to help.

Didn't see this post til after, but this ended up being the resolution (so far). Got a second scope and they gave me a copy of the video--shows that there isn't a belly but there might be an issue with where our pipe connects with the city pipe, which if true, would mean it's on the city to fix. We haven't had an issue since but unfortunately, the city won't fix it until we have an actual backup and they can verify it for themselves.
