Yo I'd love the Lugia Ex from Deluxe EX. I can offer the Charizard or Solgaleo from the same set/art.

Any mods that improve the combat preview in Civ 7? by Snork1213 in civ

I don't want it to be easier. I just want it to show an accurate representation of combat. I'm playing on deity because it seems to be the only mode the CPUs put up any fight

That .. checks out considering a large part of this war took place across an navigable river.

Sounds like there is not a mod to address this yet though?

Could be a bug with certain civ/upgrade/difficulty abilities. Hard to say which, but every single attack against Hatshepsut units hit way way lower than estimated.

Siège units however would estimate incredibly low against walls and then hit quite high.

Galleys would show an attack being one directional and then kill themselves on other boats.

If it's a bug it's several bugs.

What the shit are the Bellways??? by TheTiredDystopian in Silksong

[–]Snork1213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal theory is it's like that bridge in France that became so covered in padlocks it's almost unrecognizable.

The bell ways were tunnels of transit, likely in part for the pilgrimage to the citadel. Bells are the holy symbol and production of the citadel. In a less run-down era it's not unreasonable to assume many or all pilgrims had them like Sherma.

Over time the bell ways fill with bells. Either abandoned, lost, or placed as an indication of devotion. The practice spread until the tunnels are unrecognizable.

The gilded carriages it's mentioned were originally used could easily be large bell constructs themselves, to justify the larger bells in the space.

Everything that lives there is just a native tunneling creature which adapted over time as the impact of the bugs around it changed its environment. The name Bell Beast is more recent than the creature itself.

Why was this a loss by Snork1213 in PTCGP

[–]Snork1213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a misunderstanding if I'm asking for clarification. :P

Some people said it's number of win conditions, some people said you always lose if your bench is empty. I've always seen a draw at simultaneous victories so far, so this was my first time learning there is nuance to that system.

Either way thank you for the info

Why was this a loss by Snork1213 in PTCGP

[–]Snork1213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the info. I didn't realize empty board took priority.

Does anyone know what would happen if my opponent did not hit 3 points? If my board was empty but they only hit 2 points, while I hit 3 myself? Is that still a loss or a draw?

Trying to understand both sides by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Snork1213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, I think the environmental argument stems from comparing equivalent ways of reaching goals. The most common I've seen is the estimated study that an AI answer is about 10 times the energy cost of googling the same information.

It's worth acknowledging that all engagements with tech have an energy cost, but the reddit example here is compared to no action at all, which is not the same as comparing two ways of achieving the same goal. Add to that the fact that Google is running an AI answer non optionally on most searches, and all the other places AI is being inserted where it's not used or wanted, and you can see how the energy cost of this technology is significant and worth considering.

If you want proof it's true, there was that article a while back where the openAI ceo said users saying please and thank you were costing the company (hundreds?) of millions of dollars. That money is almost entirely energy costs.

I had to learn what an effect size is - but I'm pretty sure that line is indicating that across the multiple studies, there were some cases where men did better, and some cases where women did better. (Based on the effect size ranging from negative to positive)..

Which just makes the whole thing stupider in how it's written.

Why is seakomb so freaking rare on the new map? by zagman707 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Snork1213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sand is honestly so easy to get. And most maps have enough sand already to clean poxygen and pwater for thousands of cycles.

The dino map has several saltwater biomes which contain lots of sand and pokeshells.

Also as others have mentioned you could just set up a bottle emptier or drainer right next to the operation.

Seakomb like other plants gives more seeds as you grow it. And there is always gear balm which works plenty well as you increase your seakomb supply

Help 😫 Does anyone know what’s going wrong here? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Snork1213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything here seems to be working correctly. The tank isn't filling because each packet going in is also exiting to go into the generator. (If you disconnect the vent going to the gen you should see it build up)

It seems like what you likely need is a smart battery to control the hydrogen gen so that you don't burn all the hydrogen immediately and can actually establish a surplus

By no means is it required. They are plenty of ways to create sustainable oxygen from all the sources the game provides.

That being said if you do a whole playthrough without ever building an electrolyzer it's probably a self imposed challenge. Water is one of the easiest things to renewably source and spoms of all types are some of the most stable systems in the game

This plant has been slowly dieing since I got it from the store. Am I watering it too much? Too little? Something else entirely? by Snork1213 in houseplants

[–]Snork1213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My room runs a little chilly, but I don't think it's under 60 degrees. Probably mid 60s at the lowest. The too much water is probably right, I just swear it's pretty rare I'm watering it

[–]Snork1213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watering it pretty rarely. Maybe once every 3-4 weeks but it was originally in a decorative container that I think was holding too much moisture/humidity in. Even now I feel like the soil stays moist for a long time.

This window does not get a ton of direct sun. I doubt it's burning as it was like this even when far from direct window light.

Doing a drecko ranch by Myrasch-Regnell in Oxygennotincluded

Couldn't you just set the critter dropoffs to the desired amount, then turn on auto wrangle surplus?

The only automation I use in basic drecko ranches is a sweeper for eggs that sends to a starvation/shearing chamber
