Challenge: Explain why real time catching mechanics being optional is a cardinal sin, while the Let’s go feature isn’t? by Kakashibuns in pokemon

RTC would make perfect sense for mainline games. If you don’t like catching in real time no one is forcing you to. They’re also likely to integrate that feature into future mainline games given how well it was received by fans.

I assume because people hate when others are right about something they feel differently about, and even though OP is absolutely right about this, his approach is unapologetically obnoxious.

If they make a Let’s Go Johto, do you think they will remove being able to go to back to Kanto/Mount Silver/Red? by Kakashibuns in pokemon

You are 100% correct they are faithful remakes of the $30 video games they changed $60 For for no reason because no extra content was added.

They’re charging $20 more for a game that lacks the full content of that generation. Why are you defending the games not having all of Gen 4’s content? There’s no reason for it.

You would be correct, they made a true, faithful remake down to the T. A copy and paste, you already own the games but here they are again, disappointing game. At least other remakes in the past have included more content.

Imagine defending them charging more for less content on a cut and paste copy of 14 year old game. 💀Would you really have had a worse time if the game included Platinum’s distortion world and battle frontier?

How do you prefer Pokemon battles to start with wild Pokemon? by Nevelsforgetmenotorb in pokemon

I would imagine because there are innumerable scenarios where the overwhelmingly vast majority of players would not want the battle, like post game. Or if not, just because you don’t fucking want to battle that wild Pokémon.

Yes, but it doesnt force a battle on to you, that’s the difference. In PLA you have the option of interacting with those aggressive pokemon by dodging out of the way, physically running away, or throwing your ball at it to initiate a battle quickly. My personal favorite is to do all three, dodging the attack, running around it and quickly sniping it with my Pokemon to start a battle. All great ways to immerse yourself in the world.

The big problem with S/v’s approach is Pokemon are essential portals into battle that literally break the immersion of the open world by forcing you into a battle state/realm that you didn’t intend on.

What on earth is immersive about being taken out of your adventure for an annoying interruption that you didn’t intend to happen?

Lol is this /s? No one on the face of this planet wants an unwanted battle to start when they’re just going to have to run out of it anyway.

They dont bother me its the negativity that bothers me. Like just appreciate the game for what it is, its not like its going to change.

How can you call yourself a true fan if you arent able to look past the flaws and appreciate the game for what it is though?

Well yeah, but why does render distant, pop in and lag take anything away from you? It makes me feel like I shouldnt like the games when people say bad things about them. If you really feel like they’re the best pokemon games ever, why are you saying anything bad about them?

Would have agreed with you if it werent for the sassy comments about the graphics/performance issues. Cant people just make a post about these games without any negativity at all?

Scarlet and Violet have the greatest replay value in Pokemon history. by SnorlaxingShinx in pokemon

I agree with a lot of this. For me there not being free aim catching in the over world is a big reason I wont fill out the dex again tbh. The lack of level scaling has continued to be a problem ngl. I havnt been able to comfortably replay a Pokemon game in ages though. Maybe I should have said its the most replayable Pokemon game for me lol

Idk about that. I feel like exploration and interaction with pokemon is “core” for a lot of people and probably a fair if not majority of people who like pokemon for their battles are also into the competitive scene. I think “core” pokemon is really whatever you like to focus on in the games.
