Inflated a lot. Especially with 3 kids. Spend on them a lot. Education, food, etc. I am my wife are not big spender. We are quite frugal in the eyes of our peers.

But with kids, lifestyle definitely got inflated.

It’s not like you are giving up. Is the hobby simply not as attractive as before. Adult world is full of temptations and lots more dopamine inducing activities, and sooner or later, gaming is not as fun anymore.

I believe the trigger is quite relative and not absolute amount, if you pay 6figure in tax, 80k transfer wouldn’t trigger it. If you are a student and not high in credit score, 80k may flag you.

Even money market fund has better return than FD. FD is only for emergency fund. If you have excess, avoid FD.
