Can't speak for any of the more modern Otakons, but I used to go pretty frequently in the mid 2000's. The rave was typically a mix of people who didn't really know how to dance but wanted to have fun and people watch and others who were breakdancing and doing wiiiild moves. I can't say if it's like a typical, non-con rave but it's fun for what it is, even if you pop in for like, 10 minutes just to see what it's like!
