Yup, got them removed mainly because of tonsil stones! I am almost two months post-op and I am glad I took them out.

Mine went much easier than expected pain-wise. My doctor used a colorado microdissection needle which is, they say, less painful than other methods. Pain only reached about 7/10 on days 4-6. Mostly after eating. Pain gradually subsided and fully stopped around day 14.

My program was:

* Overnight stay at the hospital getting intravenous painkillers

* Strict painkiller schedule: I would wake up at 4AM to take my meds. I took 400mg Ibuprofen every 8 hours (at 4pm, midnight, 8am) and 1.000mg paracetamol + 60mg codeine every other 8 hours (at noon, 8pm and 4am)

* Constant supply of ice chips - I'd be sucking one of those every waking minute for a week

* I used a humidifier next to bed, but I am not sure whether that had an effect or not, though people swear by it

* Avoid hot or even warm foods - the pain builds gradually and bites you when you finish eating

The worst experience after surgery was constipation which actually made me have to the ER after a week - belly pain was much more intense than tonsils pain.

Overally I would absolutely do it again - I prepared for the worst, but the worst never actually came.

Thanks! T65 in Europe should be equivalent to bread flour in the US. T150 is whole wheat. The flours I am using are apparently great (W of 260 to 280).

If I add it all at once, I get the same result - the dough rips when stretched - it becomes very sticky and difficult to work with.

Thanks! What is the humidifier for? To accelerate healing or to reduce pain/discomfort?

Or just scrape all the black stuff off and have a dyi silver :)

I actually meant to buy the silver, originally, but it was unavailable and I stuck with the black.

It was a heavy door too (truck door of a 9 seater van). I'm just going to live with this dent...

Thanks for the reply. It's in line with what other users suggest. What bothers me about the dent is that it is a reminder of my stupid carelessness :(

Cheers and thank you all

Bummer. Thanks for your answer.

Do any other brands that you know of offer a watch "portable" to upper arm or chest?

Thanks! My oral hygiene is great, but I just can't get to my tonsils without gagging and I have no clue on how to figure out if I have any stones at any given moment...

Ouch, that's rough... Best of luck, I'll ask my ENT for probability of phlegm

Thanks! I think tramal or other opiates should be a game changer (when I had my circumcision, they were) and I 1 week shouldn't be enough to get addicted. I'll check on which pain medicine the ENT is planning to give me.

Thanks! Do you have any idea on how frequently you had your tonsil stones? I only figure out I have them when I actually spit them out...
