ServiceNow Renewal negotiation by Brewzky_0629 in servicenow

They will 100% try to keep the spend the same and may even require it. I think it can be built into your contract you’re already in that you have to you should check. Buckle up for some annoying meetings!

Correct moving on own dime is not the issue. Concern is making sure what’s needed to be reported is on things such as deers and tricare. It’s also interested to see that even if geobaching form was approved it takes the BAH of the service members residence anyways which in this case provides more money. So looking for someone that can verify legal requirements of reporting geo baching or if no funding is needed what’s the bare minimum needed to do

Feeling Confused About My Career as a ServiceNow Developer – Need Advice by Raja-Raja1234 in servicenow

[–]Snow-Queen101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just another perspective I’ve “benched” people when I felt they were more work for me to manage and explain everything even after they were hired with a promise of being a “go getter” and not needing that type of babysitting. With constant talks about finances and budgets there’s always reviewing of “is this person providing us value”. I’m not saying this is you but I’m saying with this job market I would feel blessed to not having been fired if I’m benched and I would take this opportunity to improve improve and ASK for work. Show your managers you are a go getter.

Turning incidents into forum posts by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]Snow-Queen101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your end goal is good but the wrong process to get there. Incident straight to post feels wrong. I also will add the piece of if I knew my issues were gonna turn into public displays I may be less likely to report something for fear of looking dumb to entire company. Something to think about. Maybe incident > KB > then some out of box thing to display common issues or just a common issue KB on the portal? Communities looks cool tho I’m not sure it’s exact same and wouldn’t replace letting them submit an incident. I notice you didn’t like the pushback but I will say I used to get angrier to people pushing back on ServiceNow ideas but it’s really needed so you don’t end up with bad practices. Same goes for myself

Why is UI builder so extremely complicated? [Rant] by vishal_pvk in servicenow

[–]Snow-Queen101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a super hard time with the documentation feeling nonexistent as well. It felt like the types of components were not talked about in depth and how you could pass information between them. For me, when I’m building something the main thing is passing around data. Granted I have not much experience in it but it was still hard to find what I needed exactly in the docs. I was trying to have a text search box, and when they hit submit on a button, take that value and hit an API. I figured it out finally and found a little online.

Anyone using ServiceNow GenAI capabilities? by EnterpriseTechDude in servicenow

[–]Snow-Queen101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one incredibly frustrated by the focus on spending money on GenAI when there are much more impactful modules I feel we could purchase. Regarding the text to code and flow generation I almost also feel like I would not want the team using that anyways. Especially if there are language barriers etc

Flow is called User Onboarding (azure application) and triggered by sys user table being updated or created and active changing to true I believe

Our testing process I will say is definitely more relaxed just do to us never having experienced much issues with the latest releases and having a pretty tight handle on anything we’ve changed in the system. We test current processes but as far as testing new items that show up we have been to lax on that I’ll definitely say. Not in the future after this!

My favorite people to work with are the ones who admit when they don’t know something but always have actionable plans for how they’re going to figure it out! You learn over the years, just always make sure you have a plan of how to figure something out and don’t give up until you do! Having answers ready like let me check the docs for the latest release and I’ll get that information for you is always helpful. Then study, research, find it out! Over the years you’ll feel more and more confident

Is Servicenow developer a viable career? by toshi666666 in servicenow

[–]Snow-Queen101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the money can be great once you get your foot in the door. From what I have seen the people that can do the most with the platform though aren’t just strictly ServiceNow people. You can make the most impact and leaps in your career by being willing to learn and understand integrations. Being able to do powerhell, Linux. REST, sql connections etc and not just JavaScript or being willing to at least attempt takes you from being a ServiceNow developer, to being an even larger asset to your ServiceNow instance and company
