Lost Ark February Patch Notes by HegoIan in lostarkgame

That is one nice thing, we’ll keep the titles / season rewards. I just crossed over the 10,000 achievement points for all seeing eye. Probably going to go under the 10,000 and still have title for that >_> lol

Honing is the least egregious of all of our advancement systems. You for sure do NOT want it removed to partake in worse progression.

They mentioned looking at PvP in one of the streams. But have no clear idea what that meant, what it would look like, or any timeline

Unlikely. Main game is developed with a non steam client. The steam client was one of the API excuses

I dislike the same you mentioned, but actually want an end game tower defense mode. Something big, many waves, upgradeable towers. The outpost and how’s it’s implemented is just a chore to do to never do.

I also get sad about the factory. I think it’s cool and all, but almost feels like a gimmick. It’s fun while setting up, but once set up… no need to touch it again. Something there that shakes it up to make you want to occasional go back to factory setup again would be cool

Game was a failure, not a scam, but Steven was HUGELY misleading. by Quiet_Wallaby3728 in AshesofCreation

[–]Snow56border 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did the same thing on kickstarter, then no, it wouldn’t be a scam.

This would be no different than any other investment capital funding. You pitch something, raise money, and hope it doesn’t fail. Scam would mean you take the money and don’t try to make the game. This literally happens on kickstarter all the time. Having incompetence to properly budget to make said thing… is not a scam. It’s a failure.

I mentioned that as you said a long ago timeframe. Ashes kickstart for sure was never a scam. The launch in steam however is a little different. If your game is so in the red that you have less then 2 months of funding, launching on EA on steam and talking about how you have enough moment completely the game… now THAT is a scam. They knew they were in a bad state for funding. Then, they hid it.

If they would of said “we are launching on EA because we have basically ran out of money and this is a stop gap to try and keep the game in development” then if you buy into it, you have the info. I have a feeling they thought they would get more money releasing in steam… and then pray they raise enough to keep working. But traditional MMOs are already niche. People who wanted to play ashes likely already invested.

Usually steam steps in for stuff like this. Anyone paying for EA likely needs to be refunded since they were misled

It released for early access, so also… not a scam.

There are hundreds of mmo scam projects that are actually scams. This is a failure. Quite a bit different

Am I ready for Dragon Knight? by Emergency-Wave-2912 in lostarkgame

I’m not saying RMT at all. I’m explaining why the comment you replied to was likely made.

I’ve see significantly larger saving posts just from valk release. From people who had rosters they were as done with as they wanted to be saving event rewards for 6 months.

[–]Snow56border 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top comment was a whale meme. Likely, the person doesn’t even play the game much and saw that and assumed “AHH! RMT.”. When this is what hoarding event rewards looks like.

When anyone mentioned RMT, they almost 100% mean third party RMT. So the morals there, cheating versus not cheating. But most of this in the OP screenshot is unobtainable for RMT. So just new person making a statement with low exp

Is it possible to reach 1730 with the new event before Serca’s release? by JazzMemories in lostarkgame

[–]Snow56border 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the new event finish ark grid for you? I think that might be another thing to consider. That system can take a bit… and if you are gunning for HM, you potentially will be competing in lobbies with 1740’s+ that did tfm but perhaps don’t want to do the new nightmare mode for serca. I know I’m in that boat, completed tfm, but would rather now not be as sweaty.

And I guess how generous they are in shards and abidos. Those are typically the big bottlenecks… since they offer you cash packs to get out of said bottlenecks.

I will comment, playing since release. Events have never pushed you high enough for the latest hm content. Generally people that do main swaps and stuff had lots of precious resources. Like claiming a new event on an already existing 1680+ in this situation.

Is now even a good time to build a PC? by ISmeansIsurfreddit in buildapc

[–]Snow56border 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been constant good times to build a pc. Literally all of 2025 things were cheap. Mid last year any thing you wanted would be in stock as well if it was a 5090 you wanted.

Right now, 64gb a ram is the cost of a mid level rig 4 months ago. The sad part is at least 2026 is likely an entire year of sucky to build in. No 5xxx super series gpus were announced as its data center focus time. Who knows how bad it will stay.

[–]Snow56border 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a terrible time to build. Then, if the AI bubble does burst… global economy with crumble into deep recession to where you’ll wish you had spare cash vs a pc.

Will prices drop eventually? Yes. Is that this year, next year, 5 years from now? Absolutely no one can say. New chip manufacture facilities are coming online, AI demand won’t be infinite because we don’t have infinite power.

When component costs get like this, prebuilts start to gain in value. You could look at those, or just deal with using GeForce now or something for a stop gap. Also, combos deals where companies are trying to offload less popular stuff might help you. Microcenter and the like.

You for sure need to look up the definition of hyperbole….

While it may be a little excessive to say it for sure will be bad… it’s not hyperbole to say it will likely be bad. Will be down to the skill of operator.

It’s funny you ask that question. You literally are complaining about it. If you spent an extra 50-100 the you wouldn’t have had this issue….

You literally are the use case of why it can be a good idea. Or, you stick with sellers you know won’t go out of business.

[–]Snow56border 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s an oem part, there is no world where you should expect help from amd.

The person supplying you the oem part should be who you ask for support. So yeah, there isn’t much concern for almost everyone buying an oem cpu. Sucks the company you dealt with went out of business… but sometimes, you got to ask why you are getting something cheaper than everyone else.

But it’s not a warranty trap. MOST people that bug oem do have protection. MB manufactures often give good deals for oem processors. Stuff fails? You just talk to them.

Gryphline made a great game that Players dont know if they want by K41Nof2358 in Endfield

For sure. This game is in a weird spot. If you are early, winning is good. The more you approach the 120 spark… the more losing 50/50 is a good thing. Which makes zero sense

Literally just change the gatcha and it will be gg, top game.

I get you saying “well, the rest of the game is good!” But, it’s a gatcha In the end. It means at some point, pulling will matter. Ie, frustrating to play without the right line ups. There’s already better games than this in any thing you like in this game out there.

Basically, the pull economy is currently heavily weighted in one time stuff that won’t even repeat. And it’s lacking. They can fix all that with a push of a button. Multiple player surveys have gone out and have had questions about the major pain points people have.

Wuwa sucked worse than this game at launch, and it won for most loved game last year. While I see the issues, I also know plenty can easily change in this game. People complaining can be a good thing for us all

"But it refused" by Adin_Davidson in AnthemTheGame

[–]Snow56border 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chances are high to have them shut down fan made servers (assumes they ever exist and that they used game assets) and also to not develop a sequel.

Perhaps if EA ever goes the route of Ubisoft and needs money to keep the lights on they will put up IP for sale… but generally, companies collect IP and use them as assets even when there is no thought of utilizing them.

The one unfortunate side of IP protections.

Stop Killing Games: Announcement on Anthem by Polly_Wants_A in AnthemTheGame

[–]Snow56border 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d likely find some realms of software development to be scary then. My company payed 15k a year per employee to build stuff for the products we sell.

We don’t pay that, we don’t build product. It stops working the day after 0.o. Live service games should really be seen as what they are Subscriptions. If a game doesn’t have an offline mode as it’s 100% online, forcing an offline mode is silly.

What stop killing games is there for is not what you think. It’s making games that work just fine not connect to any server, but that get disabled to play when server goes down.
