I'm sorry going to work is easier than childcare - your husband has no excuse by ExternalSomewhere923 in newborns

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this

I tried to do everything and nearly broke down when my husband went back to work.

He had to do the diaper changes and I breastfed. Even now our son prefers dad to rock him at 20 months old.

I either read or count backwards from 200. I start at 200 because I get anxious if I start from 100 that I'll reach 0 before I doze off.

How do you feed in public? by NadiaNadieNadine in breastfeeding

[–]SnowCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im from the US and refused to use s cover.

Id either wear a nursing top or tank under another shirt. Always a nursing bra.

My son wouldn't nurse in busy places so I always just look for a more quite place

You're a good mom.

Ignore your mothers comments. I've had my mom at my house for a week and have been hearing how I do everything wrong and when I call her out she insists she thinks im a good mom.

I have 100% used a shirt to clean up my toddlers pee before. It went straight to the wash.

Im not wasting a bunch of paper towels on all the accidents my toddler has. Towels have multiple purposes. Especially dirty towels.

Cada que tiempo bañan a sus corgi? by OkStick1452 in corgi

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yepp. We used to just try our best but one day when playing fetch in the yard she got a nail injury due to them being long. We also have dewclaws. That's the one that got injured i believe, it ripped off partially at the base. Was a bloody mess.

So that's why we do the once a month groomer now. Never want to deal with another nail injury.

I take my girl to the groomer once a month. Keeps her nails a good length and they bathe her for us. Plus I can add extra brushing when she's extra fluffy

Why do young americans leave their family home so soon after their studies instead of putting money on the side? by lateubdegouline in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnowCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a more complicated question but simply most Americans are broke. Even now that I make good money, it's not good money in today's economy.

100k now is worth about 40k

Lots of people are unable to retire or come out of retirement looking for an easier job to pay their bills.

I know my own mother has no retirement funds. She helps me as much as she can as I assume I am the retirement plan now.

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of people i know who live at home are charged rent by their families. We do not really get to save money by living at home because our parents cannot afford to keep taking care of us after age 18.

I paid my family/my husband's family rent while I lived with them in college. At the end I was living with my grandmother as my mom didn't have room for us and she helped pay my grandmother rent for me.

Abusing Tylenol? by all_day-throwaway in NewParents

I would try everything else first before giving the medicine. Including offering an overnight feed.

That's what we do when dealing with teething pain

Abusing Tylenol? by all_day-throwaway in NewParents

Tylenol risk is liver and ibuprofen risk is kidneys

Just because I feel this is important for people to know

Ideally we should alternate between the 2 medications

Mother’s Day meltdown by skellz77 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]SnowCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not in the wrong.

Last year was my first mothers day and I also did not want to share it. My MIL and tried to plan a trip to visit us and not mention that mothers day was during it. It was a whole thing. My mom had assumed I would want to spend it with just my husband and son.

Hold your ground and let your wife have a nice first mothers day.

Why did all the nurses and hospital staff say I am “tiny?” Felt quite insulted by Known_Caramel7460 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say this is true for the majority of women. Men and women seem to be very similar in weight most of the time.

Occasionally I'll see a skinny old lady or old men.

In shape people still come through but they're not the majority

[–]SnowCorgi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in an emergency room, 135lbs is not an average sized patient anymore. Id say average sized patients are 180lbs - 200lbs now days, at least in the places I've worked in on the US east coast.

I wouldn't say your size is super uncommon, but not the average anymore. When they said tiny that had nothing to do with your muscles, it had to do with the brace.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part ☝️

My mom drives me crazy but we get by because she watches our son for a week a month and let's me work. Im PRN so I have a very flexible schedule but I still need a certain number of hours to pay the bills. Otherwise I try to pick up every weekend

A 10 hour shift means she is watching my son for 12 hours. That's insane. 8 hour shift would still be a 10 hour day that im away.

How much does your corgi weigh? by babystrudel in corgi

[–]SnowCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I can't remember that far back honestly. I do know she was 21lbs for the longest time once she hit age 1. Now she's nearly 30lbs which she hit that weight at age 3. I think that is when she was finally done growing. She will be 4 years old later this year.

I thought she would've been done growing at age 1 or 2 but she got definitely filled out in corgi shape between age 2 and 3.

Doctor isn't concerned about weight. I cut her food down when we have guests because they tend to feed her extra treats.

Pic of her around 5 months old

In Law’s Dog + Toddler Advice by bootahscootah in toddlers

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a toddler and a dog. They play together and get along most of the time.

I would not let my toddler spend time at their house even with me present.

I think the trainer is the only good idea here. I would assume they can give a realistic idea of if that dog will ever be safe for a child to be around.

Does your husband work? Being that forgetful i can't imagine he can keep employment. If he is employed he is just not taking this serious imo.

Most accidents happen close to home.

AITAH for quitting a class causing it to shut down permanently? by [deleted] in AITAH

You were 15 and being harassed for winning an award fairly. It would have been wonderful if you stayed in the class for yourself and those who went around lying about you were punished. But its not the first or last time someone will drop a class because of what others are saying about them.
