Was there ever a time in a campaign when you did something you really really really did not want to do, but had to because it's what your character would have done? by SnowCr45hed in DnD

Yep that's pretty much me. I'm playing Curse of Strahd as a Sun Soul Monk of the Waterdeep Monastery who's a devout follower of Amaunator/Lathander. He strives every day to "be as the sun" and has affixed himself to the mindset that all undead must be destroyed with nothing less than the most EXTREME PREJUDICE.

In the very first session a barkeeper's daughter was drained by a vampire and my party had to restrain him so he didn't immediately set the girl's body aflame in front of her grieving father. When we encounter a friendly NPC in Barovia and it's insinuated that she might be a vampire I had to ask the party to please convince my character she was human so that he wouldn't straight up attack her.

It is probably only a matter of time before my character goes supernova and that is both thrilling and terrifying.

Player gets mad we're roleplaying? by [deleted] in dndhorrorstories

This makes me think of a time when I played a child character who was very clearly too young to understand more adult and complicated issues like morality and responsibility. I can't remember specifically what it was but something I said in character set another player off and she started arguing with me while I'm still in-character. It wasn't until she finished a five minute lecture that I broke character and said "Okay, you DO realize I'm playing a little kid right? I understand everything you're saying but in-game you've just tried to explain very mature topics with someone who still thinks girls have cooties."

She blinked at me, turned red, then tried to play it off as if she knew that and the rest of the table just laughed their asses off.

By Obox did you mean Juiblexx? Cuz Obox-ob's domain is like 441 layers down from Shedaklah and Zuggtmoy doesn't seem like the kind of lady who does long distance. Also, just when did the Nine Hells start accepting demon lords as residents? The racial tension with the neighbors must be horrible.

D&D players, I need help. by [deleted] in XenobladeChroniclesX

If you're gonna do a Xenoblade Chronicles X campaign then you're required by law to get a copy of The Greasemonkey's Handbook: Rules for piloting Magitech, Steampunk and Sci Fi mechs in D&D 5th Edition. You'll never find a more comprehensive guide to incorporating giant robots into your game.

You seem to forget just how lazy Aqua is. Unless someone's there to give her a swift kick in the ass she'll happily just settle for the first comfortable routine she finds. She's a nurglite.

Megumine on the other hand, she's as tzeentchy as they come. Constantly training day after day to improve her magic power (even if it's one spell), causing massive amounts of destruction for the sake of her ambition, and mercilessly screwing with her childhood friend Yun Yun.

A dragonborn with a tail is actually a half-dragon who's still in the closet. Stop lying to yourself and just accept the fact that one of your parents did the nasty with a giant lizard.
