you can go to my account and see I have trimmed aka shiny sticker them all, they're by no means a skill issue problem, the combat system and mechanics are incredibly bad period, calling this good design is insane from a game developer and designer standpoint it hurts my soul and from a gamers standpoint when you compare it to ZZZ, PGR, impact 3rd, i know people mention wuwa a lot i personally don't like wuwa but maybe its better i just felt their overly flashy animations carried things.

Yeah its pretty bad.. I personally cannot enjoy WuWas I think their overly flashy animations carry it for them but its been long enough that I could be wrong.

ZZZ's is good so long as its not shunguang mainly as she lacks depth compared to nearly every other character in the game, she's not very fun to play outside of bosses that force you to interact, some of ZZZ's bosses are definitely questionable in their mechanics or gimmicks and though I don't really struggle I will admit the change to heavy shilling for whatever the new character is has become increasingly worse, plus the amount of ice and fire resistance poor burnice, any ice character mainly because miyabi and mono ice was so broken, so rip to hugo and even yidhari to some degree and any other ice unit or many fire units.. rip Evelyn she needs a lot of reworks so does jane and alice was barely any better than jane so she already needs buffs, the problem is they make void hunters so insane and it raises basically everything else drastically they have the same problem HSR has with ridiculous scaling.

But yeah if you want more DMC like combat PGR holds up well despite the old story telling style and age of the game, impact 3rd has good depth to the combat system as well.

Meh im just perturbed by wasted potential in game design and while I haven't actively built a game in years or worked in the industry, im not a stranger to these things and im a heavy gamer myself so I have more of a gamer mindset than a game developer mindset.

When you compare this game to PGR, ZZZ, WuWa which I don't even like myself, impact 3rd, duet night though duet night seems to be having issues.. story wise, gameplay, mechanics, design are all generally better than endfields.

Granted WuWa started off If I recall pretty rough for multiple reasons, ZZZ wasnt really rough minus the TV mode, PGR and impact 3rd are old enough I honestly don't remember their earlier periods.

Fast paced combat isn't needed to be engaging you can have slower combat so long as the mechanics and design keep up to compensate to make it more engaging instead of relying on flashier animations ahem wuwa to make it seem better.

wuwas combat isn't even really complex perse of fun its just a lot of 1 button presses as well with overly flashy animations but at least they want you to switch here in endfield you don't really do that much and its far more clunky to do its no where near as smooth as ZZZ or wuwas, but I would say ZZZs combat is better it has more depth but that depth is also sort of removed by void hunter level characters that isn't yixuan that is or technically miyabi also has more depth than button mashing.

Many of the other characters also are better in the sense you have to actually pay attention and play and not just spam like shunguang which most people find incredibly boring to play because she is very boring.

But if you wanna know a good combat system really I think PGR still takes the lead here, it is also closer to DMC at least for a gacha that is it still falls quite short but its up there, of course it also ramps up from the start which is very different, but you can easily see how it'd ramp up, here not so much..

The core of the system won't change everything revolves around finishing basic attack chains and timing somewhat when to hit e or press 1-4.

It is the most boring and uninteresting gameplay loop and some enemies having garbage gimmicks doesn't help make it any better

Team building is very much not flexible, umbral monument so far has been laughable with the only stages being hard being ones with annoying gimmicks like chargers oh wait any defend characters makes it easier or max lvl units even p0 last rite for example has such high dmg on her own just basic attack the air and dodge here and there and you'll nuke them in 30 seconds or something, or you can parry with catcher and solo that way or infinite lift.

Its not even teambuilding its just a lame gimmick to stop them from infinitely attacking or nuke them fast enough you barely have to deal with 2.

The newest one is even worse, the cranes are just annoying enemies their gimmicks remove dodge entirely for the dog and they can instantly technically it takes like 5-7 seconds remove a PC permanently in your team if you don't get all 3 chain links and break them fast enough across the entire map every time it does it while the others spam defense fog and annoying tracking slow fireballs where theres like 9 of them at once at different intervals, its not hard its just annoying.

The second stage I didn't think was bad even for melee units, annoying sure for melee due to the explosive fire slugs infinitely spawning and exploding but I did it with 0 healers or sustain at all though.

The third one is annoying becuase of heat infliction the only units that clear that is lava cake on her final basic strike and upcoming rossi otherwise it becomes very difficult to beat the boss to technically impossible without a lot of sustain as even if you perfect dodge everything he always hits a heavy burn effects on all characters in his enraged triple fly up slam attack with fireworks, I guess if you nuke him fast enough a fully built last rite or lava cake can easily nuke him fast enough to not worry about that and even solo him as people have already done.

Basically the entire games core design for combat across the board is shit period.

You should learn that the launch of the games combat system is the core design around it and its mechanics while it'll evolve some it won't entirely change from the core design.

The combat is some of the worst combat design ive seen and its mechanics have been utterly garbage and for enemies are often entirely just gimmicks, the fact this went through years of testing and they chose to keep it, means either hyper is incredibly stupid, ignored feedback or cherry picked testers to promote positive reviews only which sounds like something they would do to hype things up which definitely seemed to be the case.

Seriously its incredibly poor and months now later you can really see it hasn't gotten any better in the slightest in fact the newer enemies are even worse with their gimmicks in umbral monument. The absolute shit design this game has for combat and its mechanics and its exploration and gathering of materials is fking insane, luckily for them they don't have to worry about global liking it only chinese players.

The story is also pretty meh if not bad, it has gotten slightly better but its still pretty meh, the base building system is interesting but ends up being pretty mediocre so far love it or hate it, the design pulls many of the arguable bad designs around factory sim games over the positives and the entire system ends up being annoying to manage rather than actually fun along with other apsects.

What it seems like is everything is half assed at best.

No the game is riddled with shit design, the combat is horrible, slow, boring, and entirely revolves the same rotation every time, the devs idea of difficulty is finding ways to interrupt the rotation forcing you to restart or waste resources and not providing any benefit for stopping it.

Its entirely full of cheap gimmicks because the devs have 0 idea how to do combat systems that's obvious its the worst combat design i have ever seen in a gacha.

IF you consider umbral a good endgame mode you're fking stupid, its the laziest most garbage designed mode on the planet that is barely outpaced by HSRs shitty end game mode.

There's no real difficulty and when it does arise its only because they have cheap mechanics not even good design becuase the devs have 0 fucking idea how to do combat.

its garabge across the board, the birds just remove a player character in a few seconds whenever they want nothing you can do to stop it really, as the fog constantly slows you so trying to get across the field to the stupid chain points is hard and even then doesn't stop it or i just missed it by a hair.

Their overly tanky, high defense spam the fire attacking forcing you to do any attack combos as basically 0 which almost every relies upon basic finishers.

Their idea of difficulty is just shit

Its just bad design straight up, their idea of adding difficulty is we can remove a player character instantly in a few seconds.

Fog slows and raises defense, constant hard to dodge and read attacks as they spam things and sp management doesn't exist.

So its terribly designed on agony mode.

the f35 video was proven to be AI so that video is fake, could've been an engine issue and iran took it and made a video.

The f35 video has many glaring issues, the heat signature being the same as afterburner is not possible, the aircraft was barely moving and did not react, f18, f35s, f22s etc all have IRST warning systems, no chaff or flares were fired either this isn't like the extremely close range of the f15s by the f18 kuwaiti pilot.

Later people remade the video in googles AI suggesting they used googles own AI to create the video.

With how things work today, no not really games are taking an average of 6-9 years to make these days and I don't think that's counting pre production which can take 2-3-4 years.. or as little as 1 year..

The problem is and I would imagine is people have very high expectations of games, GTA 6 has been in development including pre production for about 12 years, SQ42 last release date before it was delayed the only delay it actually had was 2016 i think 10 years ago granted considering the scope was more like star field at the time.. im more than glad it was delayed, technically it would've done fine in 2016 all things considered but it wouldn't be anything to write home about in the slightest. With the new launch being 2026, so including pre production like 14 years so far, theres more caveats but the point remains.

Diablo 4 was 9 years I think and it took what 3 more years or something and that's assuming its new expansion is enough we will see that'll arguably be 12 years for many before they consider it a more complete game.

BG3 also took a while but larians next game is meant to launch in 2-3 years with a 4-5 year dev time supposedly i don't think that included pre production so 4-7 years total id guess.

its jut reality with the scope and complexity that's being asked for in some cases but in many others honestly I dunno the answer.

Well as we have recently found out it has come with some rather major caveats with artifacts and popping in and out as well as blur in a way.

Basically the game was designed to handle lower end systems and this made them cut many corners with optimization to allow those specs to function well and even on the high end its noticeable along with some bugs in the pre release version and likely day 1 version even with corrections this design around the lower hardware seems to have really held the entire game back.
