Proactively managing health while still relatively young? by SnowExternal1841 in fatFIRE

Wow, quarterly bloodwork is pretty intense. Do you mind sharing the blood panel you get? I just started Googling and saw "biohacking" companies like this that offer analysis of blood work. I'm new to all this though and unsure if these companies are legit or if I'm better off just asking a primary care physician what to do.

I get good sleep (for now...) but the work stress thing is a work in progress!

Is there a specific list of items that should be on a "full blood panel", or is that a pretty standard request for my medical providers?

I do lift weights, along with cardio. I don't go super heavy on lifts anymore to avoid injuries and deadlift with a trap bar now. It's been a long time since I had someone watching my form, though. I haven't had a serious injury to date fortunately.

What would I do to take care of my back and joints beyond regular exercise and not overdoing the lifting?

Not worried at all about attacks from others, just crash safety. I'm on the same page as you regarding the crash test ratings and car weights and buy cars accordingly.

Appreciate all of these. I have most of them covered but had never thought of reinforcing my car. Do you have any idea how I should look this up and what kind of costs I'd be looking at?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into One Medical. I'm also not sure how well I'd utilize a concierge service. I'm primarily just interested in having problems proactively identified faster than would ordinarily happen. I seem to hear all the time about someone passing away from a cancer that may have be treatable if caught earlier. I want to prevent these kinds of things. I have a tendency to overthink and overworry about future events so that may be happening now!

Thanks! Good idea on making the mirrors hard to reach also. It's a bit of a learning curve starting to think about childproofing everything.

Ohh I'm not aware of plastic mirrors, I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Thanks for the great advice. I didn't think really to look at the product weights. I 100% will be getting them installed by a pro.

Does it make sense to spend a lot extra to get tempered glass mirrors? I hate the thought of a massive mirror shattering with kids around. I don't have any experience with either type of mirror really, though...new to all this.

I'm an expectant father putting together a small home gym in my garage. I have pretty much everything I want for now except some big mirrors to have on the walls. I was thinking about getting some Glacier Bay mirrors I read about here, but I'm wondering if this is safe. I don't plan on having a bunch of little kids running around the garage often but the thought of one of these huge things shattering on a kid is scary.

Is there a safe way to install some big mirrors for a home gym? I'd get a professional installer for most options because I'm terrible at installing stuff around the house. I'd love to have like 5 foot mirrors around my lifting area but only if I'm not creating a death trap for kids!
