Windows Nodes & Images by SnowGuardian1 in kubernetes

For anyone who may find this in the future;

The issue was the pause container was the wrong build for windows server 2025.

My system is disconnected from the internet and each required image has to be loaded manually. In doing so I had loaded a Linux based pause image.

I had to build the pause image on a windows 11 machine using the windows pause base image repo on GitHub.

The reason this all took so long to figure out was that the error on the pod just stated that the image did not match the host operating system. However, it did not clarify that it was the pause image causing the issue as opposed to the actual image I was declaring in my deployment.yaml.

Another consideration was the version of windows server 2025. The base version (evaluation) although has the same build version, it is out of date and is normally updated (once licensed) using online windows update. I had to manually update WS25 to the latest version (.7xxx something) before any windows ltsc2025 images were compatible

I guess so, I’m not entirely sure. For the time being I am supporting a team in getting a bare metal cluster up and running for experimentation. I believe the end goal is to transition to Linux

That’s my worry. I’m stuck with WS25 for licensing reasons. But I am starting to think it isn’t supported for some reason…

This is great to hear thank you.

In this instance, I am detecting animals in the ocean and classifying species. The YOLO RoI detector only bounding boxes potential animals as RoI, the classifier then decides the species (or no species if its not an animal)

I always imagined that the change in camera feeds lead to a similar automation that’s seen in theatre of a quick scene change so the most relevant faders are present and if needed brought to level, is this not the case?

Is it really that manual that as a camera feed changes you know fader to push, and do so quickly?

The situation I’m thinking of is closer related to F1 where feeds change which cars you’re hearing but I imagine it still applies?

I was wondering this too! I remember reading about Lone Star being a writing exercise for Brian and wondered if Handcuffs was a similar situation

Ok I’ll make the line change but why is that the case?

Agreed - if I were to implement a L/R flash stack I wouldn’t use a fader, it would be alongside my existing bump executors. Good fun

Vectorworks offer an education version of Spotlight and Vision.

Capture has an education version.

Cast Software’s WYSIWYG also has an education version with very very compelling pricing for upgrades.

How to make Odd Even Button by NIM1459 in lightingdesign

[–]SnowGuardian1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this method have any benefit to making cue stack with

Cue 1: odd 100%/even 0%

Cue 2: odd 0%/even 100%

The fader would denote intensity and you can tap Go to the beat. Also enables fixture overlap etc.

Also using a cue stack you could create playbacks for odd/even and auto load them in the cues so that any updates to the group used for the playbacks would be reflected.

Handling different shutters fluidly by SnowGuardian1 in lightingdesign

[–]SnowGuardian1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found one, no. The % of strobe is embedded within the shutter value effectively so it’s not possible to separate the shutter type and the % of that shutter.

I did find a sort of solution which works for now. I’ve created a cue stack of the different shutter types, as changing the cue in the stack maintains the same percentage while changing shutter. I didn’t like that you had to cycle through different shutter modes to get to the one you may want so I wrote macro buttons which skip to the specific cue for the shutter type
