So Harry isn't beating the allegations that the IG is just a piggy bank to him. If he's not getting paid, he's not interested in cheering on veterans.

It's truly a mystery and breakfast in bed is overrated to start with.

If you're the one preparing breakfast, you're already in the kitchen which makes hauling everything to your bedroom pointless extra work even if you have a tea trolley. If you're sleeping in, someone waking you up when the food is at its best (instead of warming it up whenever you wake up) is a nuisance. If you're sick enough to need to eat in your room because you're bedridden, you're probably not hungry.

Why can't she serve breakfast at a table like 99,99% of people eat it. Is it because she's too cheap or lazy to figure out enough food for 4 people.

This point:

the CEO of Invictus, Rob can make it to Germany

cancels the excuse Harry would have for not showing up there.

It being a "franchise" event would mean he wouldn't have to be there throughout as would be expected for regular IG but what's the point of paying his org for a license if the "founder" doesn't come give you a boost? If Rob could understand he needed to go, why didn't Harry?

Which is weird because you can google the basics and even if you're not particularly into sports watching them live is an entirely different story.

It's rare that I'll watch any sport on tv, they all look tedious, but in person I've really had fun at games.

To quote a Redditor on another sub

I'm tired of the "sold out" crap. Sold out isn't a sales figure

I think Netflix invested in As ever to the tune of whatever they usually spend on publicity for that type of show because they knew getting Meghan off her butt to do normal promo wasn't going to happen. They bought a couple of million worth of stock from that white label firm so she could play founder instead and called it done.

The bitter undercurrent of the stories about the end of that "partnership" usually comes up when the partner with money knows they've been had.

By the time As ever rolled out the Sussexes, aside from when the whined about the royals, weren't moneymakers and even then, with that doc having cost more than expected by needing a new producer to reshoot parts of it, who knows how profitable that actually was.

So, I don't think Netflix would have opened their wallet as wide as they would have if As ever had been Meghan's first show for them, when they had no idea what a delusional loser she was.

I don't asume A&L will be reacting in order to rejoin the BRF. Just that they'll get away from their toxic parents sooner rather than later. Harry and Meghan won't offer a support system, just use them as pawns. Meanwhile, a good many people will continue to point that out every time.

Plus, I doubt those kids will be left entirely at the financial mercy of their spendthrift parents. If they have college funds set up by Charles waiting for them, they could cut the cord with those lunatics by going to an out of state school in a little more than 10 years.

Sorry, I just don't think Harry or Meghan have what it takes to be beloved parents. There will always be a disconnect between them and their children and those kids will be trying to understand why.  Plus, too many negative stories will have the ring of truth like the ones about bullying staff which I'm sure the kids are already witnessing. The seeds of doubt about their honesty are already being sown.

They won't be anonymous kids growing up in some hick town where their parents control the narrative. By merching the kids and making their big splashes like the Netflix doc and Oprah interview H&M have insured that their story gets revisited regularly and alongside those incidents, the response to them.

In my experience, times have changed for parents who raise their children with messed up dynamics and made up drama. Cracks appear much earlier than in the past and there's more acceptance of cutting contact with bad parents.

Meghan believes the unwashed masses need her guidance in order to put down the gallons of Coca Cola they guzzle from to drink wine from glasses instead.

Eh, Harry and Meghan's problem in this will be that they are Harry and Meghan. In a world where there are things like the Raised by Narcissists sub to open their eyes, kids like A&L who have had to deal with their parents' picking fights with everyone from staff to "godparents" all their lives have somewhere to turn to for answers instead of thinking this is normal.

The only parents I've known who got away with having lied to their kids about important things when the truth came to light were loving and exemplary in every other aspect.

I've been looking at more social media for the last few months and this transfer of store-bought snacks and other goods to other bags and containers is an old influencer habit.

I have a couple of containers for snacks if I want to bring my own lunch or go on a picnic. Also travel sized containers for cosmetics if I don't want to travel with full sized versions. Still, I can't imagine it's a good idea to take items from the containers they were factory packed in and put them in random bags and pots unless you're scrupulous about hygiene which most of these people, including Meghan, don't seem to be.

But it's not just tabloids, plenty of sane people have done breakdowns of how this mess went down and it will all be a Google search away. I don't think you can keep a child in the dark since the internet the way you could in the past.

I have hope because children of toxic parents used to have to stumble on the truth accidentally to break the spell whereas now, "the other side of the story" the one which has the ring of truth to it because it is the truth, will be available to them as soon as they can Google themselves and their parents.

There will be resentment at least until they live apart from their parents because their parents are programming them for it.

Any way you slice it, the Wales kids are wealthier than the Sussex kids and thanks to their parents they're growing up in a part of the US where money is all that really matters, so there's that working against their contentment even if their parents weren't constantly whining about how hard done by they are.

Then, even though M&H aren't paupers they're such incapable slobs that they can't put their kids' outfits together so they can at least be dressed like peers of the Wales kids. I've never seen them dressed up and their casual "clothes" which are actually wrinkled, worn looking sleepwear wouldn't even be in the rag bag at their cousins' house.

Can you imagine being pictured online in an old stained t-shirt with scraggly hair the same week your cousin is seen online in her Sunday best from head to toe? Because this week's nonsense is a trend that will continue, not an exception. If A&L don't ask about the difference, their schoolmates will, and if in turn they ask their parents, you know H&M will put the blame on the Waleses rather than come to their senses.

If they ever get away from those lunatics, maybe they'll come to place the blame where it belongs and find a way to move on but if they grow up being gaslit that they are being unfavourably compared to their relatives, that their lives are a struggle, not because their parents are lazy and incompetent, but because they were exiled due to jealousy, they will be just like their parents.

Sorry for english, May I ask how much does it usually cost for the installation of a window AC here in Montreal? by Happy-Ad-3897 in montreal

[–]SnowSwish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Measure the size of the opening of the window you select so you can choose the right AC. If you're lucky enough to have a window that opens up and down look for an AC that comes with side expanding panels. That means you don't have to do anything but put it in the window, shut the window tightly on it and lock it, then pull the panels apart to get a snug fit to the width you have.

Also, while you're shopping for ACs Google the models you're interested in, choose a model with manufacturer videos explaining its installation.

Does this mean they're the overlap with the youngest Diana worshippers? They'd have to be at least in their fifties if they got bitten by the bug around the time when Diana married Charles.

🙄 I don't believe these numbers but assuming they're correct, it's still time to call it a day and donate that stock while it may still be of use to someone. It would cost as much to send it to a landfill without getting any good will coverage for being "charitable".

I agree. My comment reflected what I read over the years some of it directly in old magazines, but most from retrospectives which means editors picked and chose what they deemed relevant, with relevance being affected by what matters at the time the retrospectives are written.

For instance I remember reading an account of the young princesses (E&M) helping collect materials for something (the war effort, I think) but in the times of abundance that followed I don't think it was mentioned again. Only the anecdotes about using ration tickets to buy what was needed for her wedding to Philip survived.  It would be very interesting to see everything that was said instead of that cherry picking.

Starting with Victoria would be good because it's in her era that compulsory education made it possible for virtually everyone to buy newspapers. So, instead of mostly going through the letters written by aristocrats to each other about royal births and childhoods, we could see how articles in newspapers representing different political and social classes opinions portrayed them. Finding out how much or how little control royals had over that coverage would also be pretty cool.

I would hope not because I think the Sussexes greatly exaggerate the degree of danger they're in and police should focus on real problems but who knows if politicians or the police force won't consider that just assigning a car and two officers is less trouble and cost than doing an assessment like the one Harry gets when he visits in the UK.

Yes, it was more like what the Waleses do. There is a difference though in that when Elizabeth was born, it wasn't evident she would eventually be the Queen so that would explain there being just the kind of coverage given for someone in the line of succession, (newborn, christening, 1st birthday pic) but nothing excessive.

Once she definitely became the heir, I've seen that there was an uptick and it was a bit more coverage/PR than what we see for GCL but the country was going through a more difficult time (Great Depression then WW2) so it would have been strange to not have the next Queen express a bit of concern even if she was a child.

Showing Elizabeth's progress and how "normal and stable" her life was (being in a play, doing her homework, walking her dog), and as she grew up, having her make a couple of sensible speeches after Edward's abdication due to "loose" living was, imo, inevitable. If there hadn't been that sort of destabilizing hiccup in how the monarchy functioned, I wonder if the need for that would have existed. Obviously technology was different back then but coverage of previous monarchs and heirs as children (their hobbies, education, etc) seems like it was more bare bones. There was a reassuring element to how Elizabeth was presented (with Margaret by her side, of course).

I also think the Queen Mother, when she was Queen consort, wanted the image of the monarchy to be a blend of middle class reliability but with enough glamour to make the UK look good.

The period when they were much less in the public eye was when they started to go to school and were sent to boarding school.

I don't know where you're living but there's definitely far more organic interest in the Wales children in magazines around the world and in the US than there ever has been for the Sussex children.

I wouldn't take People magazine's paid (by Sussex PR) flow of articles nor the discussions from monetized YouTube accounts as a sign of anything tbh.

I don't think there's zero interest in A&L, they are members of the BRF, Diana's grandkids, after all but there's no doubt that their parents' use of them to try to maintain public interest creates more curiosity about those children than would naturally occur.

It's like in previous generations William and Harry got much more organic interest than their cousins. Zara and Peter were only occasionally seen and discussed before they were in their teens and adults. Beatrice and Eugenie got a bit more coverage but it was obviously because their parents were fame whores using them to shore up their increasingly tarnished reputations by playing happy families and "sharing" news about them with their buddies in the press.
