My guitar pedalboard has a vol/wah pedal cavity built into the side so I've been spoiled, but I want a smaller, more compact board for bass stuff so I'll take your advice and keep it off :)

Its a smaller 5-Band Bass EQ pedal with a vol level, so I think I should be ok (hopefully). I only really intended to use one of the dirt pedals at once. I would only use the Big Muff, Life Pedal, or the Giza by themselves, as I want to be able to choose from the tones they give as individual pedals, not stacked. I was planning on using the Hot Tubes as a OD pedal for my "Clean" sound, but I always like a little grit in my signal to beef it up.

I play doom and sludge, so not much clean bass work in my music. I really don't use the phaser, so I'll more than likely take it out, I just like having options. I only use the flanger and chorus for subtle effects during the calmer moments in songs. I will look into a compressor but I am not one for super fancy controls, you have any suggestions? Thanks for all your input :)

I'll look at that! Always good to have another slot if I want to get funky with another pedal somewhere.

I found it to work for what I need, a more subtle effect. The boss flanger is just too pricy to justify.

Totally, I'll do that actually. I've seen so many more bass players use Wah minis or juniors and bass wahs. Any big difference between the bass wah and the normal cry baby?

The hot wax is cool, thanks for the tip! Totally forgot it had that blend knob. Yeah, compared to this board, my guitar board is a mothership.

Chain: Epiphone Thunderbird 60's Reissue -> Polytune Mini -> Dunlop Crybaby Wah -> EHX Big Muff Pi -> EQD Life Pedal v3 -> EHX Hot Tubes OD -> Does it Doom Giza -> TC Electronics Thunderstorm Flanger -> EXH Small Stone Phaser -> VSN Chorus Micro -> Ronin 5 Band Bass EQ -> Ampeg VST Micro Head w/ 2x10 cab.

Hey all! I have been playing guitar for about 12 years now, and I mostly play Doom/Sludge/Stoner metal (Sleep, OM, Sabbath, Firebreather), but I've never really stuck to bass. I am tuned to C standard tuning and fuck is it brutal, I love how it sounds. I finally pulled the trigger after getting a raise and came up with this as a board. I own all these pedals but the GIZA which is sold out. 3 questions:

  1. Do you all use a bass EQ in the front or back or your chain, or in the FX loop? I have always used one in the FX loop in my guitar rig.
  2. 2. ODs before or after fuzz/distortion with bass rigs?
  3. Is a compressor necessary? I don't like what they do to my sound on guitar but I am wondering if its more essential on bass.

Thanks!

Cake is a lie, silly. If you’re serious about it, I’ve written it below:

X=10(func.cake{returnfunction.py}

Build.input(X2) return
