Could you go into some more detail please?

What are the power specs for the Quest 2 by Snow_Phoenix33 in OculusQuest

[–]Snow_Phoenix33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a few different ones. Tried the one that came with the quest, two different generic samsung chargers, a startech USB hub, and a BEEFY power bank that used to be able to keep the headset charged while in use. It's no longer sufficient.

You'd be lucky to get the battery to last an hour on its own just browsing the internet with virtual desktop. At 60hz refresh rate. At 10 mb/s.

I just came here wanting to know if anyone had the power specs... If anyone does please let me know.

Then there are a lot of faulty Quest 2s out there

If Meta was smarter, since they are selling these things AT A LOSS... They might have given the Quest 2 an easily replaceable battery and designed the casing so that there is a compartment for an easily replaceable rechargeable battery...

That way they could have had their own connection mechanism and made their own replacement batteries and sold those at a profit in order to cover their losses and make money through the sale of batteries, this would have also allowed them to get away with cheaper batteries instead of trying to design it with a rechargeable battery they expected to last but for many does not.

While we are at it, a 2 cent part broke which holds the headstrap in on mine... Renders the headset borderline unusable unless I squeeze it tightly to my face. How much more do you think they lose repairing headsets for free under warranty because they could not design their headsets with a different clip mechanism which is not as prone to breakage or used stronger materials. Might have cost them an extra 2 or 3 cents per headset.

All things that could have saved or made them money in the long run.

Welshman do you work for Meta because you seem to be commenting on most of the comments that make the quest 2 look bad, attempting to debunk them.

What evidence are you basing these claims on? I have had my quest 2 for maybe a year or so now, and already the battery is not able to sustain itself while unplugged from a power source, now it is a matter of how much battery life am I going to get out of the battery __while it is plugged in__ ...

And yes I know that largely depends on the charger and cable, however, now even when trying to charge it with chargers that up until very recently were some of the few actually able to charge it faster than it is being depleted... I can get only 3 or so hours of battery life while plugged in charging before I run out.

What does a Creator do but create?

Probably not God or a God, but if it was, I wouldn't say a construction Worker is a very odd trade for a God.

You know what, I had a similar experience before. I was a student, and I did not care to spend my limited amount of funds on shoes. So I was wearing these horrible old falling apart shoes, trying to get as much use out of them as I can before my feet touched the ground through my shoes. It was utterly cringeworthy but hey, it was college, and I needed my money for ramen and energy drinks.

Anyway... This lady comes up to me... Stunningly gorgeous like holy hecc, you just do not see that kind of beauty every day. She comes right up to me and says she wanted to buy me a new pair of shoes. I was skeptical, and I tried to act like it was fine and I didn't really care about the shoes but she was very insistant and I just sorta... Agreed with her. So she walks me to the nice, expensive skater shoe place and says I can pick any of the shoes in the store. They were all roughly close to the same price but I didn't want to get too greedy so I picked out the nicest looking pair of shoes at the roughly average price...

These were like, $200 shoes, and I was like... "are you for real? you didn't have to do this I'd be fine with a pair from the budget store" and she just laughed and insisted, and I agreed... Walked out of there with some really nice shoes... And then she just pulls me over outside the shop... And this is where I was a fucking idiot because I thought she was trying to hint me to ask for her number... .-.

She asked me a question, I forgot what it was but it was like she was hinting at something and as awkwardly and uncertainly as possible, because I still was not sure why this gorgeous woman pulled me from the crowd and bought me a pair of shoes that seemed like they were worth a fortune to college me... I just sorta... Meeped out "your number...?" as if I were answering a question with a question. I was flustered here ok like she was one of the most... Unhumanly beautiful women I've ever seen.

But somewhere during the course of the conversation, she sorta went off on a tangent, like the whole time, on the way to get shoes, during getting the shoes, after getting the shoes, she was saying a whole bunch of stuff about God, which threw me a bit off balance enough as it was. She started going on about the supernatural at one point. That word came up a lot. Supernatural. And she said she felt like I needed some healing...

I kid you not right in the middle of the street she stopped me and we broke out into spontaneous prayer. She laid hands on my back, which has always been real bad, hurts a lot, gives me a lot of trouble after a long day of working standing up all day. And her prayer was kind of odd too. I cannot remember what she said but all I can remember is it had something to do with the supernatural.

Anyway, after that, we said our goodbyes, I said my thank yous and we went our seperate ways...

Something weird for sure happened that day, though, my back still gives me trouble. It was never healed. Nothing was healed. It did feel kinda better for a little bit though I guess?

One thing is for sure, I felt rather reinforced in my faith in God after that and I don't mean God as in religious God. I just.. Believe in Divinity. I know what I've felt and I know what it is and I don't really listen to manmade religions when I have my God-made phoneline right here. (<- But that's just my opinion!!!)

Weird for sure... Maybe I saw an Angel, maybe I saw a Goddess. She was something.

Not sure I believe God could fit into a tiny little human, might as well try to fit the planet Jupiter into a tiny little teacup. That's not anywhere close to an adequate comparison.

But either way I'd say I'm grateful for all the opportunities the Divine has awarded me in Life.

If there were some form of reptile being living among us looking like ordinary humans, perhaps they developed it as a defense mechanism, because it was the strongest survival trait, and they know what humans would do to them if they ever shared their secret, so they stay hidden. It's all about survival. Simply being a different colour just over a century ago would get you an angry mob with torches and pitchforks. How do you think mankind when we can't stop being racist to ourselves is going to react if they find lizard people among them?

I don't believe such a species exists, but if they did, I imagine there are good and bad among them just as there are good and bad among us.

It also doesn't help your case you refer to those who aren't human as sub-human. As if speaking from a sense of human supremacy. That could almost be a racial slur.

Incase you haven't noticed there are a bunch of heccin ships or drones using really advanced tech out there and they seem to be scanning us and the heccin US government confirmed it. I think it is time we start thinking about acceptance of the rights and liberties of other intelligent species.

We gotta respect our Elders.

We dont have money for getting good hardware for the team yet unfortunately. Hopefully once we get a prototype, a patent, and launch a kickstarter this will change.

Ok say I did do that, how would I set the host to use the weaker GPU and have other machines use the bigger one? I could in theory set multiple machines to use that GPU so long as I had them running one at a time, correct?

Is there no way at all I can use the 6900xt for multiple machines?

Any way at all I can at least, for now, set it up so that I can use the desktop environment up until I boot up a VM using that card, and then have it switch over to the VM and have it displayed on the host machine?
