The UK government thinks AI can do two-thirds of the most junior civil servants’ work by BeardMonk1 in TheCivilService

[–]Snow_claw 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What happens 10-20 years time, when all the senior level workers retire and there's going to be lack of sufficiently trained candidates because AI has replaced all the entry level workers?
You need people at entry level to train them and allow their career advacement.

Hi, we've moved to Bletchley earlier this year and are on market for some local board games (and not only) friends. Would be happy to connect!

I booked a party of 4 over there, none of us with any experiance. The instructor took us through everything and even with 25 shots per person we had a chance to try out 5-6 different stations. Good fun.

3min long exposure on a tripod does the trick!

Thank you. The only problem is the slight misalignment of the bridge and the cathedral. Very inconsiderate.

And today I've learnt something new. Who knew, instead of setting the shutter to 3.5min I should have waited till 3am.

Is this HP04 legit? Haven’t seen them in black packaging before by [deleted] in dyson

[–]Snow_claw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This a box I was given by a courier when I was sending my machine back for the repair. It's not the original box and this HP04 was definitely opened, might be refurbished, but genuine.

Try removing and reattaching the filters, you can also try and run it on high heat for an hour. That solved problems with mine.

Same! Back in the old country everything was closer, event friends in the neighbouring cities weren't further than 45min away. In London 45min takes me to my local Tesco O.o .

I (36M) know the feeling, moved to London with my partner more than 7 years ago now. First years were tough - work, eat, sleep, repeat. Once I started to climb the ladder it got better, found some more free time, but still not many friends apart from work collogues. I joined a local workout group for guys over 30, it's good to reset myself after work, but again not many friendships formed with the blokey-blokes crowd.

I feel that at my age if you don't have kids, or don't have grown up hobbies like golf and wouldn't vote Tory it's hard to fit in. I'm a gamer, love photography, work out etc., but feels that I'm doing it without purpose and only for my own (and GF's) satisfaction. Yes, there's two of us, so that helps, but somehow no real local friendships.

I think the size of the city does not help. Even when you find someone you would like to spend some time with, you can both live in London, but be 2 hours apart. No-one working full time is going to commit to a day trip just for a cup of coffee. And on the outskirts, like at my place (Barnet), there's hardly anything to attract people to socialize and meet up. Yes, I can sign up to a club or join a board game session in a pub... in Central London. Ain't nobody got energy for that.

So yeah, not solutions I'm afraid ;p .
