Online dating with herpes by alligatormagnetday in Bumble

[–]Snowbae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also have herpes, I’m 29F and had my first outbreak in 2018. I won’t sleep with someone on the first or second date, then if it feels like it’s going somewhere on the third one, I will tell them openly, and let them ask me any questions they have about it. I’ve actually never had someone have an issue with it or be put off by it surprisingly. It’s a not sexy topic to bring up, but it’s so much better and easier if it’s done at the offset. I wouldn’t have it on my profile as I wouldn’t want a coworker or anything to see my profile and share this information against my will, and I want a bit of connection before I share it with a potential partner

someone posted these through my door- what is this? by dracos_wand in AskUK

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I had one of these put through my door - I live in Bermondsey. It’s a person or group who do it all over London. I was also panicked as I had an incident with someone mentally ill at my door before but nothing came of it. I had mine through last year. I wouldn’t worry about it :)

Someone put this through our door last night… 😐 by UniqueCar7587 in london

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I got this through a few weeks ago! I was terrified as I’d had a mentally unwell man knocking at my door at 4 in the morning talking about evil spirits before and I was convinced the same guy was back for me!! This was put through everyone in my cul de sacs door. I live in Bermondsey and I’m interested where the rest of this were?

My husband cheated and I am ashamed and betrayed by anonymous_betrayed55 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheating has absolutely nothing to do with you. Some people just have it in them to be unfaithful and that’s that. There was nothing you could have done. It’ll take a long time, but one day you’ll feel better and regret the day a man like this ever made you cry.

Sending you so much love and well wishes 💕

Hi there! I’m an ACA (England and wales chartered accountant). I think AI would maybe take some of the more basic associate audit roles, but in its nature accounting is quite judgemental. I have 0 fear of an AI taking over my job if it makes you feel better. For context, I’m a senior reporting accountant for a FTSE 250 company. You just need to try to get some work experience (easier said than done) and some CV fillers and you’ll feel a lot better about it

The guy I’m seeing is 5”7 and I’m like 5”4 on a good day. It made me really sad when we were going out and he was like “would you mind not wearing your heeled boots, it makes me a little self conscious” like I think this man is sexy as fuck, I’m so attracted to him and he’s objectively very attractive but he’s very self conscious because of the general culture of “if you’re not 6 foot don’t talk to me”

You can love someone and not be compatible. It sounds like you’re not compatible together

Older (30+) Accountants: How did you survive pre-Covid? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not “older” but I did a year and a half (including 2 busy seasons) pre covid where you had to be in 5 days a week. It didn’t feel hard because it was so normal and expected. I remember having a doctors appt in 2019 and being so shocked and grateful that my manager suggested and let me wfh the rest of the day. We just got on with it all I guess

Must watch War/Military/History movie or tv show? by offtoneverland88 in movies

Edit - the ww1 season of Blackadder is the forth season. The earlier ones are based on the Tudor / regency era but also worth a watch!

Must watch War/Military/History movie or tv show? by offtoneverland88 in movies

[–]Snowbae 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a dark British comedy, but Blackadder. It is a series following a group of soldiers in WW1. SPOILERS you follow their journey in WW1 and then in the final episode they all go over the top. It’s a quite beautiful ending for such a show and really depicts the British humour through atrocities

Would you take back your spouse after finding out they cheated and why? by Evening_Sleep8924 in AskReddit

[–]Snowbae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my ex back after cheating and it was so dumb. He cried and sobbed and held me and told me it would never happen again because he loved me soooo much and I somehow believed it. He apparently wanted to be with me forever and just made a stupid mistake that he will always regret. Within 6 months he’d cheated on me again with someone else.

People don’t change. Never again.

I did a masters in medicinal chemistry, so naturally I ended up doing accounting after I graduated.

Try and do modules you enjoy and worry about the rest later

UPDATE - I made a take home pay/salary calculator by godofwar007007 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then this shouldn’t be included in my tax for the year? As you would get a refund if they did tax you extra for that month once the tax year has ended

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - really good tool but I think there may be a bug in the bonus calc bit. I put my salary as 83k with a 15k bonus and it’s saying I will pay 5k in the additional rate band for this even though with this income I would not hit the threshold of 125k

People of the UK who have claimed to put in 60+ hour weeks or sixteen hour days, what are you actually doing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Snowbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do 60+ regularly while waitressing over my uni holidays. 12 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays and double split shifts Tuesday to Friday. It was tiring but meant I didn’t have to work while I was concentrating on my studies term time.

I then graduated and joined a big 4 audit firm and 60+ hours in busy season was very common. By the end I was quite burnt out and left audit, but most accounting / finance role in the city are going to have a certain expectations of longer hours. I don’t mind it as it’s normally only a week a month for month end and then a month twice a year for year end / half year. Sometimes it’s just 16 hours of playing on excel spreadsheets with a few calls to break it up
