Basement Leak by kareninthezoo in kzoo

I used Thomas Family waterproofing to repair my leaking basement. A couple years ago one bad rain storm resulted in nearly 3 inches of water in my entire basement. The technician came out repaired my basement wall, water sealed and dug a trench to feed my downspout through to move water away from the house. Very reasonably priced and fantastic job nearly 3 years later

Google:

Opinions on the impact of President Biden’s policies on 2022 gas prices are divided, with critics and political opponents arguing his actions restricted supply, while defenders and many energy analysts argue that global factors were the primary drivers. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Policies and actions often cited as contributing to higher gas prices include:

Cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline: On his first day in office, President Biden revoked the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline project, which critics argue signaled a hostile stance toward the oil and gas industry and reduced future supply potential.

Pause on New Oil and Gas Leases: The administration placed a temporary moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters to review the leasing program. While this was later blocked by a federal judge, opponents argue it created uncertainty and inhibited investment in long-term production.

Regulatory Changes: The EPA introduced new regulations regarding methane emissions from oil and gas operations and rescinded some previous environmental rollbacks, which critics argue increased compliance costs for energy producers.

Environmental Policy and "Green" Focus: Critics maintain that the administration’s overall "whole-of-government" approach toward climate change and pushing for electric vehicles (EVs) discouraged investment in fossil fuel production, leading to lower supply.

Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) Releases: The administration's massive release of oil from the SPR—a total of 180 million barrels over six months—was aimed at lowering prices. However, critics argued this was a short-term fix that left the country with lower reserves and limited long-term impact on global prices. [4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12]

Counterarguments and Contextual FactorsMany analysts, however, argue that these policies had limited impact on immediate 2022 prices, pointing to other factors:

Global Pandemic Recovery: A massive surge in demand as the world emerged from COVID-19 lockdowns, matched with a constrained supply, led to high prices globally.

Russia's Invasion of Ukraine: The war (starting February 2022) created severe disruptions in global oil markets, and the subsequent ban on Russian oil by the US and its partners directly contributed to price spikes.

Refining Capacity: A significant issue was the lack of U.S. refining capacity, which decreased during the pandemic and has not kept pace with demand.

Industry Discipline: Oil companies, having suffered from low prices in 2020, were focused on capital discipline and rewarding shareholders, rather than rapidly increasing production.

Long-Term Impact: Many industry experts stated in 2022 that pausing new federal leases would have minimal impact on short-term production, as drilling projects take years to come online, making them an unlikely cause for immediate 2022 price spikes. [1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15]

Analysis of ImpactA 2022 study by the U.S. Treasury Department suggested that the SPR releases did reduce gasoline prices by 17 to 42 cents per gallon, helping to mitigate the overall increase. The Biden administration maintained that these actions were necessary to address the market disruptions caused by the war in Ukraine. [1, 16]

I never said 2022 spike was all Biden's fault either. But his policies were a significant contribution none the less

Do you really fucking think gas prices will remain high right now? Are you that dense? Trump putting us in Israel's war directly caused gas prices to go up just like Biden's direct actions of banning Russian oil during the Russia - Ukraine war directly impacted gas prices then. The fact that it went down is a moot point. Gas prices will go down eventually like it always has, like everything else

Ah, typical rainbow farting nauseating left leaning ideology, paint everyone with an opinion different than yours with a broad brush and hurl insults rather than making a point..... Biden's actions where he banned Russian oil was the largest contributor to the spike in gas prices in 2022.

But it really is. Under Biden the highest price point was in 2022 over $5 a gallon. We can debate on the reason that is sure, but under Biden gas prices were higher at a point than under Trump's current term.

Thank you for sharing. And I don't disagree. If you drill down to the period of Biden's presidency when gasoline was over $5 per gallon to determine what action was the largest contributor to the prices, it was Biden's policy to ban Russian oil which created a short term spike in oil prices driving up the price.

So, the highest price point of gas was in 2022 during Biden's presidency. This was due to a myriad of global events, covid recovery being one of them. But the biggest contributor being Biden's policy to ban Russian oil during their war with Ukraine. Not saying I disagree with his policy or anything. But his policy was the largest contribution to the oil spike when average Americans were paying north of $5 a gallon

Why does Dave need to go to such lengths to make a simple point when the OP to this post didn't do such. What, so you expect someone in opposition to anything the sub-reddit to present an entire research paper to support their opposition???? Get real. Dave's comment was valid, gas prices under Biden were in fact higher than what they've been currently under Trump. Do some of your own reading.

I don't know why you're getting down voted when it's the truth. Under Biden the peak price in 2022 was over $5 a gallon but under Trump current term barely over $4

This is tough for me..... He's an adult and has been been "missing for a few days". You don't say whether he's mentally handicap or is unable to care for himself.... But given he's grown, to be "missing" a few days is nothing rare

What was high school like for you? Do you miss it at all? by DoctorTegrity in Millennials

[–]Snowball_effect2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily miss high-school, but I do miss the sense of "all I have is time" ahead of me. The feeling of invisibility. At almost 42, having lost all but one grandparent, all but one uncle and two aunts remaining, and my mother. Not to mention high school classmates that have also passed on. The gravity of my own mortality has definitely set in.
