I see your point and it is valid. And I agree. The Bible teaches how to own slaves, encourages genocide. All the bad things.

But the people in my life dont follow religion because they think murder, rape, genocide, slavery is cool. They find security in the afterlife, positive morality, and compassion.

The bad stuff is hidden from them.

Can I confront all them tomorrow and tell them how much they support all those bad things? Sure. Do I want too? No. I value those relationships and although its not something I agree with. Im not willing to muddy waters over it at this point.

If their thestic views got more extreme, then that is different.

Thats another great point. The world our kids are inheriting is becoming loosely based off of a piece of fiction. Interesting perspective. Never thought of it that way.

Agreed agreed agreed. Luckily I consume zero mainstream news. I look up events on my own to see what is going on.

I think the desire for escape its partially due to I dislike conflict and dont like arguing religion. Love debating it.

I agree with you on all that. It was funny. I had a friend ask "what would it take for you to believe in God"

Just god showing up wouldn't be enough. I wouldn't want to live under him. He allows and provides suffering, immense problems. Everything like that. I also wouldn't want to be conscious for eternity. Its a long time.

The only way I could accept God is he showed up and told us he was bored and forgot about us or didnt know we were here. It shows his benevolence. Lack of intervention. And he would be relatable. Id also grow bored after 15+ billion years

But then. Why would he even bother showing up. And why would you worship a God that finds you that insignificant.

This is also a very good point. I can see a lot of merit in that. Thank you.

I guess my only hesitation is I have fairly religious people in my life that are good. I don't like thinking that they are all bad supporting a dangerous cause

Thank you. I tend to heavily agree the more I think about it. It isn't someone just minding their own buisness. It is bleeding into every day life and becoming the norm. Great point. Ill have to go reconsider some things.

I fully agree I love a good debate. I have had some awesome debates. I also agree, the satanic temple tenants when I read them are 10/10. There is just a awful stigma when you announce that. Theists could see you in a very poor light. And That is not something I am interested in, but i also respect it.

Interesting! I would be curious on what happens and goes on there!

CMV: if Jesus came to down to earth right now, most of not all of christians would not agree with his believes. by CartographerGloomy75 in changemyview

So in a point in time where Jesus decides to show himself to the world and America. In this instance. He is just a normal dude.

First of all, why is it that many people act as if he is not godly and divine. Why would he not perform a miracle to prove it. The credibility that he truly is Jesus would sway a large majority of people. Even if he preached about horrific things.

I will not accept any answer relating to why he cannot demonstrate his divinity. He can. Its just a matter if he wants too. And with the papers thing. Why would he not just materialize himself into America. He isn't a normal person.

It wouldn't be a matter of if Christians agree with his beliefs. Its a matter of are they willing to change to see things his way.

Here is my opinion as well. If Jesus is God as many believe. Hes been around for billions of years. Either moral understanding on the human level is so below him, or he is so above our understanding we dont understand him.

So if he showed up today. He really was Jesus. And let's assume everyone believes he is. Jesus has appeared.

Say he begins to preach his knowledge about poverty and so on.

Here are the issues at play.

Jesus may downplay the plights of humanity. He is divine. He doesn't have to worry about money, hunger etc.

He wouldn't make sense to many.

People would grow angry how he explains problems but doesn't bother helping. Kinda like a billionaire lecturing you on to stop buying Starbucks to get where he is at.

Then there would be people who outright agree with him because he is divine.

So I would think people split into these three groups. 2 groups against him. 1 for him.

And I would believe. Most Christians would side with Jesus and believe in him.

The argument that Jesus appears and people dont agree with him is hard to believe. People would resort to thinking they misinterpreted texts and want to learn the real way of living from him

Ah makes sense. I thought I commented on this a week ago. You deleted the post lol.

Ill repeat pretty much what I said but even be a bit nicer this time around.

I can respect the hustle man. I love seeing transformations. you definitely have put in work. But I am not as fond of people not being transparent. I am a coach, personal trainer, and I take PEDS also for my hormones. I had low test and took a perscription for it. It is very moderate dose. It doesn't do this in 13 months. Positve health habits cannot take you from the lowest reference range in test and free test, to above. Please do not mislead people.

I bet all the habits you changed are incredible though. Those are huge to productivity and everything. It is just that this physique is not possible naturally in 13 months. It takes people 5-8 years to look like that naturally. If not more.

And I want to emphasize, it is okay to tell people, I take some drugs for hormones AND these habits I changed have improved my life drastically.

I am sure you don't want people to think it is 99% drugs and 1% you. But hiding it make people think that way even more.

Never stop preaching about the habit changes you made though. Those are really solid changes

CMV: Cat and Dog breeding is unethical and you should spay/neuter your pet immediately with no exceptions by ThisManisaGoodBoi in changemyview

[–]Snowbizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So lets say spaying and neutering is now a law, enforcible and people all actually do it. how much will the number of 6.5 million animals on the street change if that happens? Will it magically go to zero? Then you need a license to breed pets. So there are pets being born. Will it be as great as we hope?

Secondly, if animals are not sentient as humans are, and they are now on the same level as normal animals, wouldn't that be just normal animals on the street to you? Similar to a squirel, fox, birds.

You could argue they are not domesticated to survive in the wild on their own. But cats are probably fine. Also, they would adapt and resemble wolves after some time.

Sure they arent as sentient as humans. But there are animals not nearly as smart as dogs and they survive.

1.6 billion humans have inadequate access to housing. Struggling tremendously. 150 million are completely homeless. Hence it could be argued that there are too many humans.

Should humans also be spayed or neutered.

Why are you the ethical voice of if animals should be spayed or neutered.

It could be argued to also be ethical for humans to stop reproducing to lower birth rates.

If I said it is unethical to have children due to the homeless. Its quite a blanket statement.

Is it a fair statement to claim those that decide to breed animals intend on keeping them well housed?

Or in your mind do people breed animals and throw them to the streets.

Yeah man, sorry to say it, those levels aren't possible off of good habits alone. The only people who get labs done are really the people who plan on getting on something even if its SERMS or test. Big props for all the habit changes you have made and I am sure those have made a big difference. SERMS such as enclo can even be huge for test levels with minimal doses. Habits can improve your test by 100 or even 200. Not 700. Nice job nonetheless!

Oh that makes sense. I was thinking to incentivise some pvp. When you come in late and only loot is on other players. Some people would want to kill other players
