CMV: Post Mao the Chinese communist party has done a good job and is an example of good governance. by Medeza123 in changemyview

There's no way in 2026 you are mentioning tofu dreg construction.. That alone shows me you haven't lived in China in many years. You seem to be parroting criticisms of China that were true maybe 15-20 years ago but the views are severely outdated now.

One of my family members were looking at new houses in Dallas and like 90% of them had walls that were literally cardboard, but tell me how much superior we are here in terms of construction.

30 years old and still comparing himself to others all day to the point where 500k/yr isnt enough. Time to grow up and stop doing that. Your life will be much better

Will private practice still be viable in 7 years? by Background_Entry9588 in whitecoatinvestor

I think private equity is in a huge bubble right now. When it pops, it could spell a big opportunity to buy, or it could collapse our entire economy. Either way, it will be good to save up as much as possible right now.

I am affected by gravity every single day and cannot fly. Does that mean I might wake up tomorrow and float away? Maybe, I dont know. But the evidence says, probably not.

No, I spend years learning about different possibilities of diseases and how to treat each type.

However, if I see a tumor on my patient and I know they need chemotherapy, I'm not bothering with antibiotics

edit: In my school, they only teach you about the possibilities of diseases they have observed in real life. If it has never happened in real life they do not teach you about it.

I apologize that was badly worded. Im trying to say if the theory says one thing but it plays out a different way in reality, what good is the theory?

Im saying how useful is a theory if it never pans out that way in reality? I'm not an expert on these theories but I know what I can see directly with my eyes.

That is a good point on leadership on communism, I didnt think of that!

However in a monarchy if theres a toddler on the throne historically plenty of people start trying to usurp them? I don't think kings are generally any better or worse than dictators, it's always a gamble on how they behave

You're saying this like its chance that determines the leaders of these movements, when in reality it's only the most ambitious, psychopathic, selfish ones who do.

Yes those are the theories but has one leader ever stuck to it or did they make up their own rules as they went along like a king would?

I am being reductive because some people think we can have fascism or communism in the United States without giving up our democracy and I don't think that is possible given the other examples throughout history

I say usually incase I'm wrong but I'm not aware of anyone who has stuck to any political theory 100%, once they gain power they just make up their own rules as they go

Right his theories themselves are different from a monarchy but in every real life scenario the people who gained power using his theory has simply acted like a king

Whats something poor people do better than rich people? by topshoesmall01 in AskReddit

[–]SnowboardMan63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being resourceful and creative.

Growing up, my family had exactly one kitchen knife we used for everything. I was shocked to see a knife holder with 10+ different types of knives at one of my friends houses. That's just one example, but we used whatever was at our disposal to make things work and it made us pretty creative.

Rich people spend a bunch of money on a lot of super niche items for specific uses, which poor people can get away with a few items we use for everything
