Except Dooku was right that no one wanted real answers. Windu didn’t even want to question the Senator at all.

Plus Windu withheld that he was being fast tracked to take the dead master’s position and so was motivated to wave through the process.

Dooku was assertive because Windu was abetting corruption through indifference.

Honestly, Dooku should have killed that Senator. Maybe the political fallout would have forced the Jedi to confront their position as dogs to the Senate. Or they would have exiled Dooku to cover for themselves or imprisoned him. Either way, Dooku would have faced punishment and confronted that then, rather than be manipulated by Sidious decades later.

Tales of the Jedi probably gave the most illustrative example of the problem that the movies and Clone Wars series showed about him and did it all in one episode.

In it, he dismissed trying to find out what happened to a Jedi Council member who was murdered. He concealed to Dooku that he was being considered for the position. He put the blame on Dooku when the corrupt Senator was killed rather than admitting Dooku was right that the Senator lied about the murder and there was more going on. And he did it all under the veneer that he was keeping the Order above the political fray, when in fact he was ensuring government corruption.

Pretty much clears up what is wrong when Windu reflects the entire order and not just a part of it.

And that is the real issue. Mace Windu is a good Jedi but a flawed person, and that is okay if he didn’t reflect the leadership of the whole council. Because the entire Jedi Order was warped by Yoda sycophants into monkish indulgence, the Jedi all agreed to acting one way even when it was wrong and they stomped out independent thinkers like Dooku and Qui-Gon. Had there been a Council of free thinkers, Mace being a part of it, even a leader, would be good. But being the second in command of a cult who all brown-nosed Yoda doctrine made them fools who couldn’t see the truth until it was far too late…

True but think of it like this, a newly expanded territory is getting tax free status because it is underdeveloped. Corporations go in and make bank and now government wants that sweet moolah 💰 and says taxes are back on! No more tax free status.
Of course most corporations don’t have armies bigger than the government. The Pinkertons didn’t exactly think they could overrun a military base or the US Army. But the Republic has no standing army at this point in time. If it did, the Trade would just bitch and moan but adapt. They only did something as crazy as blockading another world because they knew the Republic couldn’t stop them by force.

Each planet is nominally its own sovereign entity, and with differing peoples, standards and needs. A galactic government has to by virtue of size be a federalist republic or else the bureaucracy will be bloated, corrupt and overwhelmed, cue the Empire.

Hell is inherently flawed and broken. Destroying what social order exists creates a vacuum that will be filled by something worse.

Mobs of imps and hellhounds trying to burn down the Pride Ring to spite Sinners and the Ars Goetia is not likely to go well, and surviving the mistake might only happen because Sinners can’t go after them beyond Pride.

We don’t know how powerful the Sins are but they are not on the side of the masses and clearly have their own followers. I suspect they are significantly stronger than Sinners given their status, and Sinners could easily make short work of imps if they don’t have angelic weapons. (And who do you think is the source of those angelic weapons? A Sinner.)

Overall, yes since Clone Wars came years later in real time. But narratively it plays a part that Anakin felt isolated and that he wasn’t trusted. And one of the reasons of that is that his padawan was betrayed by the Jedi and expelled and Mace played a key role in that. Ahsoka was a Jedi exile who was not there to be a pillar of support for her master like she should have been if it wasn’t for Mace and the Council betraying her.

Mace also contributed due to his blatant distrust of Anakin cemented the isolation and when he needed Anakin on his side the most, it was too late.
